Yes, this is excellent...I wish I could be there for the screening!

It's funny, it seems LFL is a little more lax on conventions in Europe.  I did a presentation on the Holiday Special at Jedi-Con 2004 in Germany, officially approved by LFL for this official LFL event.  Yet, when I tried to propose the same, updated panel for Celebration 4 in L.A. a couple years later there was much hemming and hawing before they finally told me it had been denied.  We also were also unable to officially get any Deleted Scenes footage shown at C4 during the panel with the Deleted Scenes actors (which was remedied by unofficially showing MoveAlong's "Behind the Magic" preservation DVD!).  I feel like the same might have happened if you'd proposed to show the restored Parbot documentary at a Celebration in the States - here, it seems to be more about toeing the party line.

Of course with Disney in the picture now, it's hard to say how things might change...for better or for worse?

My only goal was to provide the documentary to the fans. And luckily, I got a positive feedback and once I got it, I tried to improve the quality ad the DVD source was not that good.

I do hope the fans would appreciate it because the few times somebody offered me the doc was for thousands of dollars.

I do hope somebody could get in touch with the original film to have it digitize the best way.

I'm assuming that you are only permitted to show the documentary at the convention, not distribute it freely, correct?  Still, what a treasure for so many to finally see it!  Thanks for restoring it as best as you could :)

Indeed, impossible to distribute it otherwise I would have already done it for the community, because it deserves it !

There may not be a US copyright on this. I can't locate this particular one in the US copyright database. I see the SPX one but not this one. I wonder how well a foreign copyright would hold up.

It would hold up, because Berne Convention.

Update from starwarsarchives.com...

- A better quality version
- All previous clips from 2007 have been put in the correct order
- Total length = 26 minutes.

Unfortunately, the site linked to is currently down for maintenance and the associated YouTube clip has had its audio disabled.

Does anyone know if this 26min version is available elsewhere online?

Sorry about that - I meant to post a question but the board doesn't seem to want to work with IE??!

IE doesn't seem to work with the internet in general.

Full disclosure: I'm a web developer by day, IE being therefore my sworn enemy.

I'd also like to know if anybody saved the 26 minute excerpt - I have been busy and never got a chance to see it, and now I can't.

So is anyone here going to the convention?

If you go to the user's library and look for video's titled 'Clip00_' they are from the same video just smaller chunks and the audio is still available.  Haven't done the math to determine how much of the 26min clip is in these 'Clips'.

It would be great if Sunday or some elso who has it could distribute the long version with audio. What do you think...?

Author

Could you at least share the Powerpoint?

Interesting find.

Surely, the seller could tell us if it's the SPFX doc or not? We would need someone with a PAL Umatic deck to even play these back if it's the Parbot.
