rough ROTJ cover:

I'm trying to figure out which two characters to put on the leather portions of the back.

I could reuse Luke, Han or Leia; but there's a bunch of other people I'm not sure about which to use: Chewie, Yoda, Sebastian Shaw's Anakin, Lando...

Then, of course, there's Wedge, Ackbar, Wicket and Nien Nunb. :)

I could also put Vader or Palpatine, but the other covers have heroes on them.

What do you all think I should put?

Oh, and regarding the crawls, I'm going to modify/fix how they look on every cover after I have the rest of my ROTJ cover settled.

And the reason why I don't have specifications listed for the movies is because 1) they change, depending on the version (ie. I don't know what extras Harmy's v2.5 BD comes with), and 2) It's easy enough this way to change only a few things here and there and make a 2-disc Harmy/Ady cover.

Putting Yoda on it would be a nice touch just like it was back in the day, who else to choose from is up to anybody really from Luke or one of the Ewoks. Definitely looking forward to seeing these covers finished and ready to go from what we're seeing so far.

Hey all, I'm a long time lurker on this forum and Harmy's recent work has reignited my love of the Original Trilogy.  Anyways, I started working on a custom blu-ray set for the despecialized versions (although they may be come multi-disc sets including the revisited versions and Jambe Davdar's docs).  These are still in the early stages, but I was hoping for some feedback.  Maybe there are different images I could be using for the front?  I'd love a version of ROTJ like what you see, but with an imperial shuttle, but I can't find a good image.  Also, I'm not quite sure what info to include on the back.  I had the crawl text in the colored boxes, but it wasn't clicking with me.  Any thoughts?

Not bad, it's definitely an interesting design. But if you wanted to use them for the DeEd, it might be a good idea not to use an SE image on the front of the SW cover.

See, it always bothered me that they put Yoda on the posters and covers like that. I mean, Yoda's reveal in Episode 5 was supposed to be something of a surprise, albeit a small one. And if someone is looking at all three of the old vhs tapes side by side before watching them, Yoda's reveal is instantly ruined, as it was for me. Besides, it makes little sense to put him front and center on a cover of a movie where he appeared in all of two scenes. Sebastian Shaw would probably be an equally perplexing choice for the same reasons. Akbar would be a good choice, if you're going for a new hero, as well as Lando or an Ewok as said above.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

In a vein similar to Harmy's restorations I have restored the film posters to the best of my abilities. They may not be 100% accurate, but they are very pleasing to the eye. I did my own take of the Definitive laser disc box set, though it is still quite different. I'm almost done with the discs, so they will be uploaded sometime in the next few days or so.

All art and images are pre 1997 material to make things more legit. The only images on the back that are not from Harmy's preservation are promotional images and what not.

It is a shame that ESF only promised that good looking "LD" box and never delivered the result ...

I started working retail after I said that. I'm gonna take another wack at it. I should still have the files. My computer is coughing up dust, but I should still be able to get something.

Well, I didn't have the finished files, but luckily, I had to original project files. So I finished them up along with the box. I lost the directions to how to make the box, but it's pretty self explanatory.

Here is the link. It's a large size, but they are large files.

Aaaaaand, it's dead again :p If you could please just post the box itself.

Thanks in advance.

Better yet, is it possible to post links to each cover and the box seperately?

I've revised "EyeShotFirst"s original poster covers (THANK YOU for creating those, sir) if anyone is interested.  The above images are lo-res just so you'll know what I was going for.  I have access to incredibly hi-res scans of each one-sheet, so I wanted to do a slight revision for that reason.  I hope you guys enjoy.  There are also variants without the "The Original, Unaltered Classic" text across the top for those who'd prefer them without.

EDIT: Original logos added to spines, link updated.  Enjoy.

I tried image shack, but for some reason, it messes the colors up badly.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Why not try MEGA or rapidshare or I don't know what ?

OK, finally got it. Thanks! Quick question: Do I have to print the box on an A3 sheet? Because I don't have that kind of printer.

Ok this should do it. Click on the images for what you want. Each cover comes with it's respective disk.

This bottom link is only for the box. Nothing else.

I pretty much had to set it up where you'd have to go to a print shop. You could make the basic box, and cut and paste each side. I haven't even made the thing myself.

Working on something brand-new for Star Wars.

Let me take you through how these came to be...

First of all, I needed my 'hero shots' and came up with these six.

After I removed their useless lightsabers and retouched them, I needed some nice backgrounds.

Not quite happy with IV not being in the same style as the others, I then had to try something different. I also had to remove parts of Yoda and Luke's legs in the background of V.

Now I added some new lightsabers and fixed the back of V by coloring and cloning out Luke's legs and parts of Yoda. I did some Lucasing and edited out the two suns on the back of VI. Also did a new background for IV, by taking the shot of Luke watching out on the horizon and contract it. I used this nice shot:

Now, for the final part, I needed to install the TT I wanted to use along with my movie titles.

With the last part, I added some of the characters surrounding colors on themselves, to make it appear as if they were really standing there, and cut out from elsewhere.

---

So, when I realized that all character shots of Luke for V and VI were useless, I had to create my own.
For V I used the Dagobah shot and added another head.

VI is whole other story. No character shots were of useful quality, so I did what I didn't wanna do, but it turned out very nice. I used an action figure and added a headshot of Luke.

---

Now I really feel I created something new for Star Wars. And now on to the backs!

You still need to work on Hayden's hair and right shoulder on II.  Looks like you left the white background.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Thanks for all the inputs. Here are some updated versions.

For this, I've added clouds in the background, gave Anakin and Tatooine a color overhaul, added some kind of sandstorm at the bottom.

Anakin got a yellow tint to go with the background that has been recolored.

Removed all purple in the background and retouched it with black color. Added some fire sparks. For both versions, I added some blue color just on the top of Anakins head, to make it appear as if the lightsaber is really there.

Change the wholoe color layout, removed alot of grain, added clouds, gave Luke some warm colors to mix in with the back.

Recolored a lot of Dagobah, fixed some errors I made when attached a new head to the body, added a lot of fog.

Added green color on the side of Luke's head because of the lightsaber, played with the colors and added a touch of white behind Luke.

Luke looks like he's high on the "Empire" cover. :p

More seriously, anyone for a cover for Marvins' French preservation of "La Guerre des Étoiles"?

OK I did one with my poor photoshop skills.

I put this together as I love the front of the steelbook they released in some places, but not its back. Enjoy !

And I managed to remove the episode numbers (I didn't know I would even be able to do this). Here it is:

A long time ago, in Denmark, far, far away from the Skywalker Ranch in the U.S., I wanted to do some Blu SW covers. After putting nearly 60 hours into this set, it's finally finished. I'd like to thank all who gave me help during the process, feedback and general thoughts - thanks!

Does anyone have dimensions for the box?

I sent a PM to EyeShotFirst regarding the box's size, he didn't reply yet. According to my calculations, it should be 300x231 mm. Will try this size at a print shop tomorrow.
