I'm just saying your posts seem a little tense.  Folks will help you, just give them a little time.

Okay.  I'm not tense as such: I'm just trying to put across that I really am a bit out of my depth.

Sorry.  I took your post the wrong way; that's all.

No worries, mate.

I'm waiting on a rapidshare or torrent for this, so I'm getting pretty good with this patience thing. ;)

Ditto. I played with newsgroups awhile back and wasn't impressed. They're a good fallback if/when it becomes clear that Ady's work will never see torrents, but...

Strange.  I find newsgroup downloads to be amazingly fast and you don't have to seed, or rely on other people, and you don't have to worry about some idiot having unpacked the ISO or otherwise messed with it.  No contest in my book.

I figured out how to do the conversion to 23.976 fps!  It played back perfectly on my Pioneer BDP 51FD, so Adywan's second solution does work on Pioneer players.  If Adywan gives his permission, I might consider uploading it to rapidshare if people are interested.

I know you're interested, Sluggo mate! :-)  I think we'd need a few people to make it worthwhile.

It would only be the HD video and the surround sound, as the subtitles don't work after the re-encoding.  I didn't bother to re-encode the director's commentaries either, as I don't listen to them.

I do need to know if Adywan did anything special to make the ISO.  I can make an ISO of the BDMV and Certificate folders with imgburn, but I'll need to know if there are any special settings to be used for making an AVCHD one, as I've never done it before.

Amen, brother!
Takes the fuckwit factor right out of the equation

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Only insecure little children think that life should be "fair" for everybody and that everything should be "free". If I had a nickel for every time someone bitched about having to pay for usenet access, I'd be a rich man.....

FYI, to all you peeps who think that torrents are free , go ask your mommy how much the ISP bill is each month. Now back to your regular scheduled programming...

It depends on the provider, the one I currently use doesn't have any download limit surcharge (providers I have used in the past did) so it makes no difference if I'm using a torrent or checking my e-mail I still pay the same amount (though the part of central Scotland I'm in has lousy connection speeds).

I still have to keep the computer running so that's more on the electricity bill.

I have no problems with you doing this. Go for it :)

I used Imgburn to create the iso. Just make sure it's set to UDF 2.50 when you are making the ISO

That would be a very useful thing right there. :)

I finally did that yesterday. $25, 180gb. Set it up in 5 min and started downloading dark jedis Gout. Damn this was easy. And you can d/l a lot of stuff with 180gb. So that $25 ain't no money to talk about if you're interested in this stuff.

Go get it!

About your "Life isn't free" speech vbangle, I know very well about it, in fact i'm 30 years old, married and living in Turkey which is an underdeveloped country. It is much more difficult to pay your fees and rent and everything else even for someone who has a MsC degree in this country. I paid 50 dollars to my ISP provider monthly which is one of the highest compared to european countries and USA. This company has monopoly over internet providing business so we dont have an alternative.

Also I think you don't get one of the important features of internet, it is you don't have to pay big companies everytime you want to reach something. Sharing between internet users save our money and get rid of the obligation of  making big bosses even richer. Someone who already owned a usenet account may download the movie and upload it as a torrent easily and this can save many from paying money.

I rather donate that money to administrators of forums that provide file sharing for their maintenance costs (or people who put their labor for producing something good like ADYWAN) instead of paying to these companies. I think you should remove your capitalist ideas from your brain for a while and see the world as the way it should be: SOME THINGS IN LIFE CAN BE FREE IF WE CAN ELIMINATE LABOR EXPLOITING COMPANIES...

P.s: Sorry for my english, and to those who do not want to see this kind of irrelevant post but I  sometimes just couldnt stand people tryig to be look smart on internet forums.

Okay, thanks to Ady for giving permission.  I'll upload this when I can, but it will take a while on my connection.

Fredstar, I don't think everyone will know what to do with an mkv, but thanks for the suggestion.
