ok....

Wrote the uncompressed files onto my dvd-dl, and popped it into my ps3........ works like a charm!

Going to watch it tonight!

Good to hear that. I wonder why the fanedit.org version has been unpacked from its original ISO? This can cause all sorts of problems as the structure could be changed during burning. Unless the NTSC fix was applied before posting there, then that would make real sense. When you burned it did it suggest cell 28 as the layer break and no other? If so then the fix has been applied and all is good.

I'm not upto speed on all the versions of this... i'd like to say project but it's more of an experience.  There's Xvids, DVD5 & 9 in PAL and NTSC, 1080p BDMV, 1080p mkv, AVCHD, Colour Correcteds, Purist Editions, Real Propers, Repacks, ?, ???!... is there a matrix or guide to make sense of/comprehend what's been accomplished and when released?

Just get the DVD9 (NTSC if you're in North America, PAL in the real world). Anything higher-resolution is not going to be Revisited, as Revisited was done in SD — it'll probably just be Ady's colour-corrected version of the SE. The DVD5s and xvid were released earlier, and some changes were made for the final, "definitive" if you like, DVD9 versions.

These versions are NOT the Revisited version, they're Ady's HD color-corrected version of the 2004 SE (minus the Greedo scene, which is now back to Han shooting first).  They do look fantastic, though. :-D

Thanks ChainsawAsh didn't realize the 1080p/AVCHD were not Revisited projects, that helps clarify things.  Ok so the Version 2's  are the ones with the amended titles.

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [NTSC] (this got *Repacked* to fix a playability issue)

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [PAL, DL]

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [PAL] (this got *Real Propered* because of an error)

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [Xvid]

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" PURIST Edition [DVD-5] (was this ever released in PAL?)

I can't recall exactly if it did.  I  think I remember a window coming up with that suggestion.

The movie works perfect so far (haven't finished it).  Fanedit should probably switch the download to an .iso.  It's much more cleaner.

Hi all.

I have searched high and low on the internet through torrent sites and the likes of RapidShare but i can not find the PAL DVD9 version. I can find every other version.

Via torrent sites there are not enough seeds and can only download 64%.

Any links to the PAL dual layer version would be very appreciated. I would prefer the higher res PAL version for my UK dvd player.

Thanks

DVD9 isn't higher-res, just less compression artifacts and comparing between the DVD9 and DVD5, there isn't that much visual quality difference. DVD9 also has some extra special features.

Ok thanks for that.

Any chance you could upload that copy? I know its big though.

Or, where did you get the copy sent from.

Cheers again.

ps. i was blown away by the NTSC DVD9 version but my main player wont play anything other than PAL.

Adywan sent it as part of the initial release. I'm sure someone in the UK (I assume that's where you are) can send you a copy, but Ady isn't mailing out any more.

I don't have the bandwidth nor the technical knowhow to upload it, and what's more the disc is scratched and my backup was lost when my hard drive crashed. I'm awaiting a copy from Johnny Ringo any month now.

Thanks for your input guys.

Ive been so frustrated trying to find a copy online that i have already decided that if i do eventually find a copy, to upload it as a torrent file and seed it for as long as possible.

Lets see what others have to say. I hope someone knows where to get it.

I would have prefered giving you the $11 dollars to be honest. You deserve it for the work you put in.

My apologies, Moth3r - I wasn't in the best of moods at the time.  Won't happen again.

hey adywan how did you make your menu "buttons" just text like in the official DVD?

Do you the menu items like "PLAY", and "CHAPTER SELECTION" ?

They're just text that's put onto the menus during DVD design, and using an appropriate font of course.

Have you ever used any kind of DVD creation software?
(I'm not being sarcastic...I'm just asking)

My program of choice is Ulead DVD Workshop. It's an oldie, but a goodie. It can make buttons out of almost anything (text, picture, video clip thumbnail).

And, that's only the tip o' the iceburg. :)
