Info: EBay - Kid's Vaccine SW - anyone seen this before?

There’s an interesting 16mm film up on eBay right now:

Advertised as from the late 70s, Star Wars advertisement promoting vaccination for kids.

If it hasn’t been preserved before, I’m willing to do it.  Thus, if we want it, it would also make sense to coordinate, rather than bid against one another.

Intriguing - would this be linked to the drink-driving PSA from around the same time? Maybe there are even more of them...

I think I've seen that on YouTube.

I can't find it on Youtube, but I did find what appears to be some fascinating behind the scenes footage from the shoot!

Interesting that bits of the Death Star docking bay control room set were still around when this was shot. (Circa 1979?)

Where were you in '77?

Chunks were repainted and put into the Executor set in ESB (possibly including the bit that is replaced by the televison behind a plastic dome thing here) so it makes sense that other bits would still be tucked away in Elstree as late as then (they might have hoped to recycle them too).

I have this somewhere... I must look...

I hope you didn't pay too much for it!

Maybe I'm confusing it with one of the other PSAs.

That BTS footage in the DS docking bay is amazing!

Incredible BTW footage there... I wonder if there is similar footage for the other PSAs?

I know my friend Mike Streeter (who is not on these boards) was trying to bid on the 16mm copy of the PSA, but I was going to point him to you anyway, Puggo, so I am glad you got it.  Hopefully you two didn't wind up in a bidding war.  I'll let him know it fell into the right hands!

Can you tell by looking at it if it's as red as it appeared in the pictures they included with the auction? I know they said those pics were redder than the film actually is, but would you know that without loading it onto a projector and such?

Just took a cursory look at the film.  It's Eastman Kodak stock.  Definitely red-shifted. However, there also looks like plenty of other color remaining.  I expect it to restore quite nicely.
