Yeah, like Darth Neo said there was a promotional special on Star Tours made back in the day. Highlights(?!) include Threepio and Artoo performing a rap song, and Gil Gerard hanging around talking.

There's also footage out there of the opening ceremony, which was a cheesefest on the level of the Donny & Marie Star Wars Special. But it did feature lots of costumed performers, along with George Lucas and our pal Michael Eisner cutting the ribbon with a sparking "lightsaber".

This stuff really needs a proper preservation. My friend Aaron Snyder did a nice DVD of it, dual layer, including someone's cam footage of the whole ride. He's been slowly collecting more things for a version 2.

Hi guys,

I thank you for your patience. The site is coming along nicely. I know I should have released it earlier but I've had some difficult news to cope with. My uncle has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has only a few weeks to live (really strange how fast those things can go). So I have been preoccupied with this and I hope you guyz/girlz can understand.

I have been putting in a lot of hours to get this thing as good/great as it can be and I will continue when I'm feeling up to it. I have been receiving some great help and some wonderfull stuff that you will all get to see (exspect some really rare stuff). I have been showing a preview of the site to a select group of people like ROK, T-bone and Jambe Davdar and have been getting some great responses (and help for that matter).

I will keep you posted and sorry for the delay (I have been looking forward to your responses as well...)

DN, take as much time as you need. I lost an uncle to skin cancer 6 years ago, and I know what you are going through. However, something good may happen, they gave my uncle two years to live and he lived 5 so there is always hope.

Just a quick one to let you know I have returned from my travels abroad.

It is great to return to so much fantastic footage. My SW project is on the back burner for a few months. I have to devote some more time to work and family. But keep it coming! This stuff if great.

Darth Neo, in the ROTS 60 Minutes interview that you posted they mentioned a couple of times an interview with George Lucas they did on TPM back in 1999. I was wondering if you had this, because I would like to have it for my collection also. And does anyone know where I can get the George Lucas interview that is on the 97 SE set?

Hi Marvolo,

I was mistaken on the TPM 60 minutes program. I do have it, just not on DVD or VHS (I thought I did).
I could only find a very low-res quicktime (in 5 parts 56KB modem anyone?), that I downloaded back in 1998.

It's not the best but I've uploaded it just the same. Hope someone will come forward with a better version of it.
