Info: I recreated the wipe from ROTS (Released)

Hello, A while back I was trying to create a passable version of the diagonal cut left out of the DVD version of ROTS. I think I did a decent job using only the DVD as a source and the old TC Xvid’s as a reference. It should be very easy to recut back into the film using the retail DVD and a frame accurate cutting program like cuttermaran. Please let me know what you think of this.

Actually, there’s no need to recreate this wipe… digital copies of the theatrical version are out there in good quality.

Well I don't have access to those, so I made my own.

Me neither. I was never into pirating movies in their theatrical run.

By the way, thanks. I'd like to see it incorporated into a fan edit.

hi, everyone i don't know where to asking for some "reedit/recut" fan made of EP III, just the "Mace / palpatine / anakin" scene, it was really well done, and it gives the drama scene and anakin falling in the darkside a different way of the original version, i've seen this but i can't remember where ? need some help, THANKS.

I believe you are referring to darkhelmet's Episode III edit (which it seems was never completed):

However, the clip you are referring to, named jedi_confront_palpatine.wmv, was actually posted on page 42 of Trooperman's SOTDS thread:

Does anyone know if darkhelmet is still doing this?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Well, don't get me wrong--I don't want to discourage you from remaking it, hopefully in better quality. Just wanted to make sure you knew the real thing is out there.

A good thing, too... otherwise we'd never have real historical record of the changes made. Unfortunately, something in similar quality doesn't seem to exist for the theatrical AOTC, and we have no way whatsoever of seeing the IMAX edit again.

I think he was looking for schorman13's recreated wipe, not the palpatine fight.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

yea... and the palpatine fight is wrong... no offence to the guy who made it... but the edit he was doing doesn't actually include the correct pacing score wise...

Is it not sad that in this time, we are more surprised by acts of love than acts of hate?

Would've broken my heart if no one was still interested in this. I'm getting back on track with this ASAP. Got a bit overwhelmed with some of the nasty, gory details of actually being able to do the revisions I imagined. Still a little unnerved, but it's definitely worth a try.

I'll have a lot of re-tooling to do since I want to make the audio as clean as I can; not to mention creating SW-quality wipes/transitions.

More to come soon. Dare I say a completion date of May 19, 2007?
