Don't frown. I may repost it some time in the future. There would have to be some real interst though. People can always PM me, and if I get enough requests I may just post it back up on ILOVETORRENTS.COM and also on DIDIDAVE.COM sooner rather than later, so get registered on those sites if you haven't already. Awesome places to get all your torrenting done.

By the way, not long ago they released a Special Edition DVD of The Search for Animal Chin with extras, a documentary, etc. I think it's a 2 disc set. Spendy (like $40-50 I think), but I plan to pick it up sometime.

Wow......Starkiller's DVD looks great. Is there anybody that can mail me a copy if I send the DVDs and PIF? I'm on a dial-up connection with no way to download these. I love this movie. I don't know why it was never officially released. Can somebody hook me up?

Thanks!

I've recently become aware that my Rad DVD (among countless others) is being sold by a certain person who was once a member here. I find this very disheartening.

Is there anyone who would be willing to torrent this again? Somewhere where it would have some longevity... like Demonoid or the 'Spleen? I may decide to do it myself as I would really like this to be freely available.

It really sucks that somebody would make money from your hard work.

I do not have a copy yet but would gladly seed it for as long as peeople wanted to grab it. Why there still is no official DVD if beyond me, I see it mentioned a lot on forums in favorite 80's movie threads. I still cant belive I missed the initial seeding.

So I have a question to anyone that has burned the Dual Layer version.

I finally found some DVD-R DL media. Made one coaster, but the second try was successful. Popped it into my Oppo DVD player, and the movie came right up - Great. However, it appears that the video has some "stutter". The audio sounds great though.

Tried it on two different DVD players - same result. Try two different computer DVD drives - same result. Has anyone else seen this?

The source material seemed to play just fine FWIW.

I think dual layer media is still a bit suspect at this point. I only use Verbatim DVD+R DL media and I have never had a problem. I can only suggest the obvious: update your burner's firmware, try different media, or burn at a slower speed. I hope you can work it out.

Hmm. Thanks for the advice. FWIW - The burner's firmware is current, and I burned at 4X. I'll try a DVD+R DL to see how that works. The DVD-R DL media that I used is Verbatim.

What program are you using to do your project compiling/burning? It's kind of low-tech, but I've used PgcEdit every time with DL media and never had a problem. Nero supposedly throws the layer-split into a junky spot, which causes the disc to suck. Aren't I technical with the way I describe things?

I'm using Imgburn. The program says I cannot set the layer split with DVD-R DL media. Basically I made a iso image using the program, then burned the iso with the same program. This is my first time creating a DVD, so I don't know a lot about the process.

Please add me to the list of people requesting a seed for this DVD. I would also be happy to set up a trade for the dual layer version. I have over 50 fan edits/preservations from this site and myspleen. I can send several of these to you as a trade.

Is there a trade forum anywhere here? There seems to be lots of people who missed different releases and trading may be the best way to get the titles no longer seeded anywhere.

It is no longer on ILT and hasn't been for a while.
Too old for usenet also.

Maybe if in a couple weeks it isn't up I will see about torrenting it.

Here's a snapshot of the auction on ebay. Don't know if it's the same user that was here but it says on this one that it comes shrink-wrapped and is imported.

User ID: misty0143
Auction # 280096802234

It's got the INHD logo on it too! What a stinkin' shame. Why do people have to be so greedy? Let the freely given be free.

What is worse is that im tempted to buy it as it seems its the only way I'll be able to get a copy.

radchris,

It's funny you posted that. I was checking out auctions just last night and I did some calculating. Check this out:

• In the past 30 days, ebay seller misty0143 has sold 117 of my RAD DVDs and has made over $1879.08 off me. That amount doesn't include 25 "Best Offers" of undisclosed amounts that were accepted. That puts the actual total well over $2K.

But she isn't the only one...

• In the past 30 days, ebay seller shootingthestar has sold 46 RAD DVDs and has made $690 off me.

• In the past 5 months, former forum member TR-47/shadoweyes47 has sold more than 68 RAD DVDs and made over $481 off me via Yahoo auctions and sell.com. (I can't search completed listings on sell.com so those numbers are only half the story.) It should be noted that while he sells for the cheapest price, he sells _discs_ only, no cases or covers. Truly the cheapest way to go. It should also be noted (as many here will attest to) that this "entrepreneur" sells countless other DVDs--many that were born right here on this forum--and has been doing so for several years. It's amazing the he has even found the time to sell over 68 copies of RAD. My heart truly goes out to this SOB. He must do nothing but burn DVDs all day long.

If it were just a few copies here are there, I wouldn't mind so much. But these numbers are ridiculous!

All of this has convinced me to take this puppy to Demonoid. I'll do the DVD9 version first, and I think I'll do the DVD5 version after that. So both will be available.

However, I'm on a rather sketchy wireless connection, and I'm on a laptop that I don't want to leave running for several days at a time. So, can I get some help with the initial seeding from some of you guys who already have this? Please let me know.

I have both and can rip both and help.
I'm on cable with a fairly good upload.
I can only hope we get no Demonoid hit and runs on it.But thats torrenting........and why I moved to usenet.
Anyway, let me know when you want to do this and I will help.Let me also know the folder structure you want to go with.

I goto eBay a few times a day and look for these bootleggers and report them but they are like roaches man. They keep coming back.
I don't quite understand how eBay can get so many reports on these sellers and not yank their accounts!

Thanks, Insanity. I really appreciate it, and I'm sure others will too! I'm a usenet guy myself, so this is my first time torrenting something. I hope all goes well. I used the original VIDEO_TS structure so it would be easier for others to seed. It's the VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS, and CONTENT folders inside a main directory titled Rad (1986) DVD9. The CONTENT folder has the disc and cover art along with the original NFO. It's the same as it was on usenet.

I've got the first torrent going now. I hope I didn't over-rotate.

Ok, I am now downloading the stuff in the torrent I did not have.I did away with the content folder by mistake long ago so all I have to do is download that stuff and rip my DVD and we are set.I should be able to help seed a a couple hours as I have to go do a little running around and by that time the content folder should be done.

Seems I ran into an issue.
I cant seed because my client is telling me file VTS_01_1.VOB is too large.Larger than that of the one you have.
That file is near 1GB so the only thing I can see doing is downloading that file and hope there are no others that have the same issue.
I used DVDFab Decrypter and cant figure out how I am being told I have a file larger than yours. It's the same file!

If anyone has any tips for this issue, please do tell.I have done this several times for others before and never had this issue.

Also, seems the file VTS_01_6.VOB you have is 378.33 MB while mine is 372 MB
