Raul: What you're suggesting, proof or no proof, is a possibility that many of us suspect could be true anyway. So we'll continue to accept that as a possibility, unless further proof one way or the other presents itself. And you've said plenty of times already, you don't have any further proof for us. That's fine; please forgive us if we'd like to think it's true but can't take your word for it 100%. I trust that as soon as you do have any more substantial info, you'll bring it our way ASAP.

On top of this, even if Raul is right, Lucasfilm may change their mind and go in a completely different direction. It happens.

Also, Lucasfilm doesn't have to make any justifications for going back on their word. They didn't when they said the Star Wars films would not be available on home video. They didn't when the said none of the films would come out on DVD until after the last prequel came out. And they didn't when they said the OUT would never be made available. But they did change their minds and went back on what they said in all these cases... but who complained?

Sure, those pictures are sweet, but why would an image of the cgi Yoda be on a box set for the original trilogy that doesn't display the episode numbers? It's too weird.

Skot thanks for being the voice of reason. And cable...just relax man. Its not worth getting this riled up about.

The truth is that report is reasonable but completely unverifiable, so we just have to treat it with what it is: an unconvirmed, unanomously sourced, unsurprising rumor. Nothing earth shattering. And its something many here suspect. But Raul, at the same time i don't think you can expect us to seriously just accept such a report. But thanks for sharing whatever information you have. We'll take it with the appropriate grain of salt. Now lets let this argument die.

This particular subject has run it's course.

It will have run its course when we have proper OOT DVD release. That may be next year, or it may be decades from now. Who knows? And easy guys.

Lucasfilm could try including both versions of Beru's voice. That might help. In any case, anamorphic transfers are not asking a lot. If these discs had been good anamorphic transfers, then there would have, of course, still been legitimate complaints, such as the multiple audio tracks, but it would have at least met industry standards. That's right, Star Wars fans will always have criticisms. But you know what? Lucas decided to create the SEs and the PT. That's fine. But these are the consequence of attempting to bury the originals. He's brought this on himself.
The only one really effected in any detrimental way by the people who always complain about Star Wars are the complainers themselves.

Lucas could possibly put a couple audio tracks on there, but there there would be other things to compalin about that I haven't even conceived yet. It's like playing whack a mole, and a not very fun game of whack a mole at that.

It's no skin off his back if he can't please everyone on the planet. As long as he pleases more than his fair share, he's golden.


He's rich. He's golden if he pleases nobody. My point is that it isn't the fans' fault that he decided to release so many version of the films. He's brought this on himself. No there'll be backlash until he gives us a proper release.

And as for Raul? If he's right, great. If he isn't right, I hope that Jay gets that new petition up soon, so that he fight can continue. I hope he's right, of course. And any proof would be appreciated, but at this point, it just seems too good to be true. It'd make sense, but LFL haven't done anything that makes sense for a long time now. I'd love to believe it, I just don't want to get my hopes up.

Cuz now is not the time to be playing games with us.....we've been waiting for the OOT forever. We finally got it in non-anamorphic which was already a blow, we knew the quality was going to pretty not good, which is another blow. We don't need some little punk coming in here and starting crap like this, telling us that it's coming out next year and pulling our collective chains like that.

Look....I apologize to everyone in this thread for all this. I didn't mean to contribute to derailing the thread. I made some comments on the anamorphic enhancement topic that started here and Raul came in with old prototype pictures claiming he had "inside" information from a source at LFL that we will be getting the OOT next year as part of the 30th Anniversary stuff.

Such a claim is BIG news for people around here. I think it's only natural to quesion Raul about it and in my opinion, he's simply been stringing us along, building us up, but not really giving us anything concrete. That calls into question his credibility. I challenged that and I asked what I felt I should.

crazyrabbits has a problem with that cuz how could I really know if it's true or not. So what? I'm NOT supposed to ask just cuz I can't verify...or could I? Who knows?

I threw some names and some insults at crazyrabbits, but not at Raul I might add. Worst I called him was a troll. There is no excuse for calling crazy names. I will refrain from now on, but I will not apologize cuz I think crazy is what I called him. I simply won't say anything of the like again.

Please return this thread to its original subject.

Everyone happy now?
