For newies: What to watch first?

Author

Okay, so I'm new here (but not new to Star Wars, fan films, etc) but I'm kind of up in the air as to what to watch next.

So far I've seen Building Empire, Deleted Magic, Return of the Ewok and the Holiday Special. What do you think should be next on my agenda? Or if you had to come up with a top 10 things you have to see from this particular thread, what would they be?

I'd just like to make sure I'm investing my time wisely.

The whole saga would be great. I'd recommend viewing it with ADM's fan edits for 1-3, and for the originals either TR47 or OCPM's versions.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

Here are my suggestions:

- MagnoliaFan's Episode I - Balance of the Force (ADigitalMan's PG Remix)
- The EditDroid OT Collection (SW, ESB, ROTJ)
- The Ultimate Supplemental Collection (4 disc set made by Rowman)

And promising things on the horizon:

- Returning To Jedi
- Episode II - Shroud Of The Dark Side

Just my opinions.

I'd recommend all of the mentioned releases. Particularly the ADM edits. And the EditDroid versions. The WookieGroomer split-screen versions were pretty entertaining also.

For ANH, Darth Editous' version is a must!

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

I detect a very slight hint of bias there!!!!!!!!!!

Why no mention of your R2D2/C3P0 compilation disc???

4 - 5 - 3 - 1 - 6 - 2

I'd also recommend checking out ocpmovie's de-specialized Classic Edition Trilogy. Of course, I only have the Classic Edition SW myself so far, but it's a great way to be able to watch the OOT in high quality while still being spared the CGI of the SEs. To me, seeing the occasional laserdisc-quality footage matted into the picture is far less distracting than seeing digital cartoons jumping out all over the place.

Also, ocp's Special Edition Hype is worth watching, if just for a flashback to the media saturation revolving around the SE releases 10 years ago. I just got this finally, and I enjoyed reminiscing about how excited I was during that time as well. Despite anyone's feelings about the films being digitally altered at the time, I think we all were freaking out because STAR WARS WAS BACK IN THE THEATERS!!

ocp's menu for that thing is hilarious as well. Took me a minute to realize that every short film clip shown in the menu was an expression of feelings about the SE changes:

LUKE: "There's nothing for me here now..."

BEN: "Destroyed. By the Empire."

(etc.)

And if you are interested in more SW TV specials, babyhum's collection is a fantastic high-quality archive of those from both the US and the UK.

The Classic Editions (OCPMOVIE) really bring down the house as far as watching the unadulterated trilogy. Please PM me if you want me to burn you some copies.
For some reason, the "Hey, That's My Dinner" line has ALWAYS bothered me.

I decided that I'm going to go after one of SKot's suggestions...ocp's Special Edition Hype. I've kind of forgotten a bit about all that was going around that time period and what he said really got me interested. After this one...I dunno. Keep the suggestions coming.

I tried getting this one before myspleen when down: The Ultimate Supplemental Collection (4 disc set made by Rowman)
but there were no seeds. Is anyone seeding this by chance?
