Will all of Hayden Vader lines be done by golden or just new dialogue?
Because I thought Hayden did a fantastic Job at making me think that was him under the mask and not AI

I don’t believe Hayden delivered Vader’s lines through an AI voice filter - although I could be wrong. It was my understanding that they just generated the lines until they were satisfied with the delivery, which is what I did for TROS Ascendant.
Unless he’s an audio wizard, I kinda doubt he’ll be touching the partially unmasked part where it’s a blend of Hayden and Vader’s voices.

Is this project still active? I know the editor has real life gigs that take priority. I was just wondering if anyone has heard a whisper of an update? I have really been looking forward to this edit for some time.

The answers in that video were rather vague and ambiguous. He mentioned that he may or may not be done with visual effects this year. He is relying on someone else to handle the musical score, which has no timetable whatsoever.
If this does get released, it looks like that will be years away.

My takeaway was a bit more optimistic - he didn’t give a timeline but he’s clearly very motivated and committed right now. He said VFX are likely to be completed this year or early next, and scoring and additional voice work is harder to pin down, but likely near the end of VFX completion. My feeling was that we might see this by the middle of next year.

Yeah it sounded like he just didn’t want to give a deadline to other people working on the project since they’re collaborators and not employees. I got the impression late 2026 is a definite possibility for his side of the work to be finished which is positive in my opinion.

I’m just glad to hear that he isn’t some sort of AI purist. Voice acting is great and all but it immediately signals to viewers that they’re watching a fan project. It sounds like this edit will feel like it could have been released in theaters with no one being the wiser.
And yeah, AI video is definitely Pandora’s Box, so I’m glad he’s not touching that. Plus, I don’t think the technology is fully there yet outside of some quick VFX and landscape shots.

Tiny update: I noticed the other day that PixelJoker responded on reddit to someone that he’s started doing test screenings for Kenobi. Hopefully we’ll get some news soon!

I just re-watched the Obi-wan series. I am looking forward to this edit. Things on my wish list, Ship lanes added to the Coruscant skyline, Anakin de-aged, and the shaky-cam during Obi-wan/Vader fight stabilized.
