This is an all inclusive list of every photo/video/released detail of Pixeljokers95’s “Kenobi: Trials of the Master” which is a fan edit of the Obi-Wan Kenobi mini series that he is reworking in to a movie. I’d like to keep this as up to date as possible, so if I miss something, please leave a comment and I’ll add it to the list! I’ll put sources in parenthesis.

Latest Update: (March 6th 2025) - Okay time to get here as well (discord)! You all saw what happened, luckily the frustration didn’t last long and we really had a miracle. Before I address your questions and concerns, here’s a bit more explanation on my decision to change the location of the cave. First of all, it’s the logic behind Obi-Wan protecting Luke. In case Luke is in danger, Obi-Wan has to cross the Dune Sea and travel for a while to get to the homestead. Not very practical… The second reason is a double-edged sword (no pun intended) when it comes to Obi-Wan’s mental state. He’s close to Luke, so he could protect him, but he also constantly faces the reminder of his failure and fears for the future whenever he looks outside his cave. I thought it would be interesting to explore that idea. Owen knows all of this and remains as hostile as always, which fits well into that idea. My friend and I also tweaked their conversation a little to further accommodate that change. Then, when Obi-Wan decides to move in the end, Owen’s shift in attitude makes more sense. Regarding the location of the cave, nothing really changed in the broader scope since there is already a large rock formation that Obi-Wan uses to observe the homestead. I just placed the cave there. The distance is the same as in the series.

Some Changes Include:

• It will adhere to the canon of Prequel Trilogy, the Original Trilogy, The Clone Wars, and Rebels (discord faq)
• Core of the story is unchanged, but motivations of the character will be changed, and their actions will be changed (discord faq)
• Reva and Leia are both in story, with Reva getting a big rework including stronger motivations, and a justified redemption (discord faq)
• Leia is a bit less perfect and bossy, but more realistic (reddit comment)
• Tala is pretty much untouched (reddit comment)
• Vader will have a much bigger role with new sequences that will add interesting turns to the story-line (youtube community)
• New shots and scenes will be added to support the narrative with close to 400 new VFX shots (discord faq/youtube)
• Added flashbacks and visions (discord faq)
• Shots added to emphasize Obi-Wans self-doubts and fears for the fututre (reddit comment)

• Removed instances of being called Obi-Wan to his face to keep in line with dialogue in A New Hope “Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.” Among other lines, Haja tells him “You’re not alone General” and Tala tells him “I can’t imagine a Jedi Master doing anything wrong” (discord)
• Obi-Wan’s cave location is changed to one overlooking the Lars homestead, further solidifying Obi-Wan’s mission as the protector. (discord feedback)
• Used every single bad dream and waking up shot, as well as looking after Luke to create the new beginning of the film (reddit comment)
• Obi-Wan is going through the training Yoda mentioned at the end of ROTS, he wants to be connected to the Force so he could contact Qui-Gon, but his PTSD and the fact that he’s not at peace with his past is stopping him from achieving that (redddit comment)
• While in a cantina, Obi-wan now discovers Vader survived, as described in “Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader”. He sees a report on the invasion of Kashyyk. This happens early in the film (reddit/youtube comment)

• Qui-Gons lightsaber crystal buried with Anakin’s lightsaber (youtube/reddit comment)

• Vader/Reva duel re-edited; Vader tries to pull the first ship, but Reva attempts to kill him and causes the rebels to escape his grasp. 85% similar to this video (discord feedback)

Yeah I saw that one, but it didn’t have much information on it, listed no changes, and only had a few screenshots. I thought I’d put one together that had everything, since it was all very spread out.

Above is all Pixel has mentioned about the flashbacks. Hopefully he adds some much needed changes in these scenes. I did a little mock up of what looks a little better in my opinion. Changes include…

• Major color correction on entire scene, and especially on both faces. It’s way to pink and de-saturated
• Obi-Wans robes are pink-ish, even after color correction and need to be a little tan
• Obi-Wans hair needs more orange in it
• I think Obi-Wan needs to be de-aged as well
• Needs Coruscant traffic in background

Dark Luke scenes look to be PTSD related dreams of losing Anakin to the dark side and seeing Luke do the same, as seen in Pixels Instagram trailer…

Yoda Scenes:
-Obi-Wan is going through the training Yoda mentioned at the end of ROTS, he wants to be connected to the Force so he could contact Qui-Gon, but his PTSD and the fact that he’s not at peace with his past is stopping him from achieving that (redddit comment)

I’m making an educated guess that Obi-Wan must have some form of communication through the force with Yoda where he’s given a little guidance/training.

His comment is in response to people asking if the project is dead/forgotten. I think he’s trying to say that he’s been working on it tirelessly, so it’s kind of hard to forget about.

Yeah, sounds like he just worded it weirdly then - probably due to sleep deprivation lol. The smiley face kind of gave it away.

Maybe he is targeting that holiday 2024 release date seeing as how he’s going at this “non-stop”? I don’t really care one way or the other, but it’s definitely hinting at that.

Latest Update: (December 23rd 2024) - "I’m alive! And so is this project!

I’m editing a Christmas project update video- it was supposed to be out on 25th, but due to circumstances (I’m in charge of the family dinner menu), it will be out sometimes before New Year’s eve. In the meantime, enjoy those stills.

And I’ll explain why I was mostly offline as well.

It’s not in this sequence of PixelJokers, but if it’s anything like his clip showing one of Obi-Wans nightmares, than I imagine it’ll play out incredibly. Although, Obi-Wan does briefly see Anakin in a flash of lighting before their duel on Taskeed, so who knows where else he might pop up.

"I usually refrain from posting bad news, but it’s really a terrible time for me right now.

I was in the middle of recording a tutorial for a new-ish type of VFX I’m doing for TOTM when the rack that holds my hard drives fell to the floor, along with the drives, of course.

Out of 8 HDDs, 2 of the most important ones no longer work—the one with all my personal data (including all of the family photos and early works), and the one with half of the TOTM reshoots, sounds, and source footage.

Luckily, the disk with the Premiere and Nuke project files survived, so in theory, I can re-link everything if I manage to recover any data from the failed drives.

Overall, the last few weeks haven’t been great, to be honest, and this seems to be the culmination…

I’ll see what kind of work I can still do so I don’t waste my time waiting for a solution, but good old Murphy sure is trying to make it difficult for me…"

Oh no. What an absolute disaster. As someone who has lost significant amounts of editing data in 2 separate hardware failures, I can fully sympathise with him.

I really hope he can rescue the files. It would be a crime if this edit didn’t get completed.

Pixeljoker can absolutely get that data recovered. Of all the edits out there, this is the one I’m most looking forward to.
