THE REBELLION TRILOGY
A 21C Peasant Fan Edition Project - Released!
ANDOR: A STAR WARS STORY - The 2.5 Hour Single Film Cut of Season 1 (updated)
REBEL DAWN: A STAR WARS STORY - The 2.5 Hour Single Film Cut of Season 2
ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY - An All-New Remastered and Expanded Version
WHY MAKE THIS FAN EDIT TRILOGY?
I made this edit solely to create an alternate viewing experience, and not as a criticism of the extremely well-made television show and film.
WHO IS THIS CUT FOR?
For those who already love the show but would also like a concise version that fits perfectly into a Star Wars movie marathon.
For long-time Star Wars fans who appreciate the show (and wanted to love it) but found that the pace and secondary plots were not for them, making a rewatch of the entire series highly unlikely.
For anyone who would simply love to see this story cut down to match the pace of classic Star Wars and other action/adventure films.
For anyone simply excited to have an entire new Star Wars movie trilogy!
HOW WERE THE CUTS OF THE TWO ANDOR SEASONS ACHIEVED?
By focusing the narrative primarily on Cassian Andor and secondarily on Luthen Rael (and by extension, on Kleya). All other characters come and go as needed to support that narrative.
By not only reducing or cutting out other side-plots entirely, but also by tightening up all of the remaining scenes to convey the most necessary information and to keep the movie pace rolling, while still allowing it to breathe where it should.
By reducing the number of conversations characters have about the same topic and allowing the viewer to see how things play out rather than needing the whole plan explained in advance.
OTHER CHANGES - ANDOR
Runtime 2h:32m
Creation of an opening crawl that sets up the events of Cassian’s childhood on Kenari, two years before the start of the Clone Wars.
FX work as needed.
Insertion of a classic Star Wars iris-wipe to close the film.
This updated version includes a few technical repairs to my original cut. Also, I have changed some of the music during the end credits. So, even if you have version one of the first film, be sure to download the entire trilogy.
OTHER CHANGES - REBEL DAWN
Runtime 2h:34m
Creation of an opening crawl which helps to establish the Empire’s intentions with the planet Ghorman, et cetera.
Creation of a prologue that covers the most vital of the narrative elements of season two’s first half. I made I minor adjustment to the timeline to make things work.
The bulk of the film covers the events of the second half of the season, which, I believe, is what an actual movie would do. TV shows are great, but movies get right to the point.
Inclusion of some Rogue One musical themes to foreshadow the final film.
FX work as needed.
Insertion of a classic Star Wars iris-wipe to close the film.
Note: You will not see Bix and her baby at the end of Rebel Dawn, but this does not mean that you will never see them again, so be sure to finish the trilogy!
OTHER CHANGES - ROGUE ONE
Runtime 2h:21m
Creation of an opening crawl setting up the events of Jyn Erso’s childhood.
Inclusion of five unused scenes and some brief shots from Andor season 2. This worked really well to tie this film to the overall Andor story. Bix has a real presence in this film, and Cassian now truly feels like the co-main character along with Jyn. Also, just seeing some familiar faces and hearing some names dropped goes a long way in solidifying this as a trilogy.
One of the new scenes is the one in which Cassian and Vel toast their fallen comrades. This now takes place after Jyn has been brought to Yavin and questioned. Adding this simple scene here works wonders for this trilogy cut. The pace is improved, Luthen and a number of others who have sacrificed themselves for the Rebellion are mentioned, and a reunion with Bix is discussed.
Inclusion of some Rogue One trailer footage not found in the original film.
Insertion of an Andor-style BBY 1 year card. I’ve seen some confusion about this date, but BBY 1 leads all the way up until the Battle of Yavin takes place. BBY 0 is after the battle.
Extension of the Wobani planet-scape establishing shots.
Inclusion of the Tarkin and Leia deepfakes by Shamook.
Inclusion of some Andor musical themes as well as some classic John Williams music to tie this film both backward to Andor and forward to A New Hope. The Rogue One soundtrack is quite good, so I purposely left most of it intact. Plus, the Andor S2 soundtrack felt more cinematic to me than that of S1, so it works as a very good bridge to the Rogue One score.
Darth Vader’s voice is changed to be more in line with what we hear in the original trilogy. (I’m struggling to re-find the Youtube video where I found this voice work. It was my favorite of the several available, and I’d really like to give credit where it’s due.)
FX work as needed and some minor tweaks to improve the characters and the story.
And a few other surprises.
HOW TO WATCH
If you already have access to the first film, you now have access to the entire trilogy. Everything is in one location. The updated version of the first film has now replaced the original.

CONCLUSION
This was a really fun challenge, and I feel like it worked out even better than I expected!
Now, I have another Star Wars trilogy to watch between the PT and the OT! That was my goal from the beginning, and if any of you are interested, I’d love to share it with you!
Thanks for all the amazing support. May the force be with you…
