The best part is the line retroactively makes Rey saying “I am a Jedi” to Palpatine extremely impactful. She is finally no longer afraid of who she is: she knows she’s a Jedi like Leia told her. So she calls that lightsaber to her hand and ends Palpatine once and for all.

You’re on a roll, keep it up. I love the read on that. I need to sit down and look over things to see if I see anything else to try to do, things to help existing goals.

Leia saying “come home” would be welcome too.

I apologize in advance for the proceeding wall of text.

And I’m not sure if you’ve seen this from the deepfakes thread yet Hal, but I posted this Leia line a few days ago before all of these other ones: https://youtu.be/-LzqBD8--H4

Could we try “He’s too dangerous, Rey” for the short scene? I feel like addressing Rey by name helped the delivery and make it feel less like dialogue lifted from TFA where she barely talked to Rey at all.

I like “He’s” but feel the one that ended with “, Rey” cohered better into the scene.

I prefer the second one because there is some fear in her voice. Not sure how well it lines up, though.

EDIT: After running it a bunch more times I finally got a similar result to the one you’re referring to - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1na_xpnguljFN-DQ0dKYdNtOQHFgtaDem/view?usp=sharing

Wow, guys! these dialogue lines generated with AI are amazing! Impressive!

Any chance stuff like this could be added into the edits for the other movies, or is that asking for too much?

Maybe we could clean this up a little with Mark Hamill’s voice.

Luke Skywalker:
“It was the last night of her training. Leia sensed that she could do more good following another path. She surrendered her saber to me and said that one day, it would be picked up again by a Jedi who would finish her journey. A thousand generations live in you now. We’ll always be with you, but this is your fight.”

The Skywalker Saga:
I · II · III · IV · V · VI · VII · VIII · IX
This is the way.

Absolutely this. Y’know, if it works seamlessly.

As far as “Thank you, Rose,” where do you imagine placing this line?

See the YouTube link in my previous post. I placed it right before Snap interrupts Leia and Rose about the attack on Pasanna.

Also, I put about 18 mins of Mark’s character from the World War Z audio book into it, and it’s a mixed bag. Sometimes it sounds like him, and other times it doesn’t. The good news is that 6 audio books are coming out on the 21st that are read completely by him. I believe they are fantasy stories.

That’s pretty terrifying. But in a good way. Damn. Could you put that on her eyes in her vision toward the beginning of the film? Where she’s sitting on the throne?

Also, I think Nev may appreciate your help on Starlight for this effect. Unless they want a more subtle approach over there.

wow that looks really good to me.

I concur. I’d love to see how it looks when Sith Rey flares her teeth at actual Rey!

This is wild stuff! Great work all around. It’s nice to see a lot of activity here!

So I actually managed to find an hour of Alec Guinness reading, and the voice it generated is completely flawless. I mostly wanted this so I could create a “Let go, Luke. Let go.” for TLJ during Luke’s death scene, but I know some others mentioned possibly using it here.

Burbin, that’s gorgeous. Whenever you finish it, send it and I guess I’ll have to officially declare open season for V3.

And I still have not mentally grappled with the possibilities introduced by the AI voices JJB has brought to the table. I feel we’d do well to avoid getting into what we could do, and instead use it to meet needs and fill gaps. (Which has been the case so far; I’m talking to myself.)

I wonder if we could have Leia begin the little briefing at the start of the movie. We could get rid of the Emperor’s Fortnight speech we added, and come into the scene with something like this:

Leia: Emperor Palpatine has returned from the dead, and laid claim to his former Empire. The First Order was a diversion.

Cut to that one shot of Leia looking worried.

Poe: “His followers have been building…” and the scene plays out.

Not at all sure of it, but tossing out the idea.

But wasn’t the goal to imply that the ships were a stockpile? How could we imply that with Leia’s opening line?
