does anyone have a decent copy of any of the following? I believe these would be excellent projects to pursue. Any of these interactive movies will do. I do know Captain EO was shown on Disney Channel about 10 years ago or so…

I particularly would love the BTTF ride, as I am a nut for those flicks.*

I have Captain EO (recently given to me). I would love to see BTTF as well.

But to see all these, wouldn't it be via crappy home video? Or is someone able to get their hands on the tapes that were actually used for the masters?

Also, in the BTTF one; weren't there 2 screens. You had the big screen in front of you with where you were headed. Then you had a smaller screen with the Doc constantly talking. I'm not sure as I've only experienced this ride (and the T:3-D thing) at Universal Studios Japan. Everything was dubbed in Japanese.

I have a copy of Star Tours that someone else made from the actual tape, but it wasn't done very well, and the colors are off. It would be nice to get the tape in my own hands, and make a good transfer.

Hey MeBeJedi, any chance of posting the copy you have or do you think you actually could get your hands on the tape?
Man, I would really love it if someone made a good release of this with the footage and other stuff out there. There's another thread somewhere about trying to make a good release. But it seemed no one had a n actual copy of the tape...anyway...this sounds cool.

your captain eo, is it a decent copy? or a home video of it?

It looks like somebody got their hands on a widescreen print at some point as seen here. It's kind of murky, not to mention VCD quality. Eo was actually shown on MTV in early 90's, but fullscreen.

Remind me, SilverWook. Is the version you sent me fullscreen?

[EDIT] That's not too bad looking. It's obviously from the actual film. Too bad it's so heavily compressed.

Yes it is. I doubt too many people recorded it in Super-VHS though.

I'd like to have the T2-3D also. I know there's a decent quality workprint floating online, but that's only ACT 2. I'm looking for the whole ride in good (DVD) quality.

I live in orlando and can get into disney and universal, maybe i can get some stuff. Nothing official, but some cams and stuff perhaps.

Also, I know there is a good bttf video on youtube that has both screen on it, like a picture in picture type deal. Maybe if somebody has that in a higher quality.

I really like the idea of this. It'd be cool to have videos of attractions for people to look at when they cant get to the parks.

There have been two DVDs entirely devoted to Star Tours, by Aaron Snyder and Alex Newborn respectively. I have both. The ride video that's out there (and on both of these discs) is not the best quality. You can see it on Return of the Ewok. There is a camcorder bootleg on Newborn's disc which is interesting.

Aaron Snyder is working on a v2 of his Star Tours disc. He and Alex Newborn have been in contact now, so maybe they will collaborate on a release. In any case, best of luck to them.

About T2-3D, I know a workprint version exist. I have seen parts of that myself. If someone could get a hold of that workprint in DVD format, many people would be happy... but where can find one that workprint?

That would be the most ghetto thing ever. I saw that thing 2 years ago, and it's still one of the best motion-simulator/3D rides I've ever been on.

I don't know how much this would help, but it looks like someone posted most of the filmed segments, as well as some pre-production rehearsal footage, on Youtube.

Part 1
Part 2

The quality is nothing to write home about, but it is worth nabbing, if only because it's virtually the whole thing, and the dialogue is hilarious (e.g. "Now, we go bust a move" and "It's a T-1,000,000"!). The best part is the two actors playing John and the T-800 (the live-action versions) hamming up their lines.

That's the workprint I was talking about. But it's only in bad quality available.
