Really depends on the title. DTS discs are rare except for titles they made a bunch of. They made a hell of a lot more copies of the AC3 discs.

Basically supply and demand.

And you can wait for a deal to come along every so often. Some titles are never going to come down in price due to their scarcity though. Though i found DTS discs of Goldeneye and Tomorrow never dies for 40 each and i find that very reasonable. What isn’t reasonable is like a hundred bucks for Mortal Kombat if one shows up for sale.

No film is as overrated as Avengers: Endgame. Great lesser-known films like Intolerance, Citizen Kane, Ikiru, Close Encounters, Gun Crazy, Parasite and 1917 are often overlooked because of cash grab CG blockbusters like this one taking up the market. So many major plot holes are often overlooked, especially the paradox of Steve staying in the past. Not to mention that all life in an alternate timeline dies to Ego’s expansion plot because the Avengers take Gamora from that timeline.

Not to mention the misogynistic plot points of frigiding Gamora and Natasha.

I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

They also sidelined Captain Marvel. The directors said because she wasn’t familiar to the group of original characters. The worst part was fat Thor though he was made into an absolutely worthless sidekick for the guardians of the galaxy, and professor Hulk, a Hulk who doesn’t smash isn’t much of a Hulk.

And Black Widow dying instead of Hawkeye who should have died.

Honestly it has some cool moments but its not as good as Infinity War. And almost as bad as Thor Ragnarok and Iron Man 3 in places. My opinion is 2 of the Avengers movies are good and 2 are awful.

Edit: seen Akiru its deeply depressing and wonderful at the same time. I do need the Criterion Laserdisc for this and the other Kurosawa films. Thanks for suggesting 1917, Gun Crazy, and Parasite i’ll have to check those out. The Citizen Kane Criterion is also something i’d like to see.

When I saw Avengers: Endgame in the cinema there were a lot of kids present, who started cheering when Captain America wields Mjolnir, and erupted in wild cheers during the climactic final battle between all the MCU heroes and Thanos’s army.

I’m sorry guys, but I can’t say anything bad about a movie that has brought this much joy to children.

Judging Endgame by the standards of movies like 1917 or Citizen Kane seems silly. They’re so different in terms of audience and intent that they might as well be different mediums.

In my opinion, Endgame was a triumph of blockbuster comicbook storytelling that is unlikely to ever be equaled in film, but that doesn’t mean it is great in the same way that Casablanca or 12 Angry Men are great, nor should it try to be.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Team Foxcatcher is way too heavy-handed on the foreshadowing. Heck, just about every media piece about the murder of David Schultz by John DuPont lays on thick foreshadowing about the crime.

I feel that Final Fantasy V Advance has a better, more orchestrated soundfont than the Super Famicom version. The SFC soundfont wasn’t as good as the other two 16-bit Final Fantasies’ SNES soundfonts.

Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is just meh. Also A Day in the Life is just OK.

When’s something gonna happen?

1940 is a better year for cinema than 1939. Rebecca, Pinocchio, Fantasia, The Thief of Bagdad, Foreign Correspondent and The Shop Around the Corner are all essential viewing.

I prefer the Fairbanks version of Thief actually. And there are a number of good years for cinema. I like 1933 for King Kong. 1938 for Adventures of Robin Hood. And 1939 for Wizard of Oz.

Out of the two Zelda games released for the N64 Ocarina of Time may be the most fondly remembered, but personally I consider Majora’s Mask to be the superior game.

Kylo Ren was never redeemable the way OT!Vader was. I felt that Kylo couldn’t have redeemed himself after he killed his father Han Solo.

I like almost everything about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Except for the Aliens and the fridge scene. I felt like the ending was a great way to end the series and bring it back to Raiders with Indy and Marion getting married.

The cgi looks fake as hell in places though i wish they could fix it but it isn’t the end of the world.

I liked the father/son dynamic, it was far from perfect though. It was kind of half baked like they were trying to do the Last Crusade relationship Indy had with his father again.

John Williams score is fantastic. Ford is great. The hate this movie gets is insane.

Community kind of sucks. I mean, the show is mostly funny, but then they always have to ruin it by shoehorning in a cheesy message and tons of “heartwarming” moments into every episode. That’s really not my type of sitcom.

At least it’s not as bad as Friends, though. I have no idea if this is unpopular or not, but that’s probably one of the worst sitcoms I’ve ever seen. I could only force myself to watch the first episode, and the only two times I laughed were at moments that weren’t supposed to be funny.

My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:
I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX

Most people would say either Phantom Menace or Rise of Skywalker is the worst film in the Skywalker Saga. For me, it’s Attack of the Clones. The unbearable romance is just one aspect that makes it the worst. The droid factory and head swap was stupid, and yet that pales to a major trilogy-breaking plot hole very few mention. This film shows that Anakin/Vader knows the location of the Lars homestead where Obi-Wan hides Luke in the OT.

Ok, ok, hear me out.

Jaws: the Revenge was good.

I’m not really that much of a movie purist. I really should’ve thought my name out a bit more.

Everywhere I look The Shawshank Redemption is praised as one of the greatest movies of all time, but frankly I don’t get what’s so special about it. It’s the type of movie that would be produced by the Hallmark channel.

Whisper of the Heart is an absolute masterpiece and should be regarded as such along with the other Ghibli films. Also I found Earthsea okay and not the terrible movie people make it out to be.

The Cat Returns is also a great OVA. It just shouldn’t have been marketed as a feature it isn’t.

Love Whisper of the Heart though i have the Laserdisc. No English sub or dub though. Its in the Ghibli boxed set.

I actually prefer the color timing of the 3D Blu-ray of Jurassic Park and the 4K Blu-ray of Terminator 2 more than the original Blu-ray. However I still dislike both uses of DNR.

I watched Ghostbusters 2 and its kind of underrated. I think i might have been unfair in my earlier assessment of the movie.

Still think Vigo is a weak villain and the character Peter MacNicol plays is annoying.

But everything else sort of works. Its only damned for being too pedestrian and too late 80s. But i think Bill Murray is pretty good in it, and so is Sigourney Weaver.

Everything since has sucked. If they weren’t going to do a Ghostbusters 3 they should have left it alone.

I love Pacific Rim, but only the first one. Its like a live action anime. I loved every single moment of over the top cheese. Pure fun. The sequel is one of the worst movies i’ve ever seen its barely better than the second Independence Day.

I remember watching a RedLetterMedia Plinkett video where Stoklasa argued in favour of Ghostbusters 2, saying that the Ghostbusters are not meant to be action heroes, just average schlubs who happen to be the right guys to get the job done, and that people missed the point of Ghostbusters 2.

I actually liked Saw II to VI. I prefer them over Jigsaw and Spiral to be honest. The only movie from the original series that I disliked was 3D.
