Thanks for the feedback. I just wanted to know where this fit into my collection. I thought that it was the LOOK set but I wasn't sure, the quality isn't anywhere near the TR47 set...but it is better than my original ebay-bought LOOK set (at least the audio is in synch). I am a completist, so this goes into my ever growing SW dvd collection.

@MeBeJedi - if your router supports uPnP then you could try using BitComet - it has an autoconfig option for port mapping.

What version is it? It's anamorphic widescreen and the quality is somewhat poor...about VHS level. It has no commentary, no subtitles, and the chapter breaks are very far apart (for instance, chapter 2 in ANH starts at the cantina scene). Any suggestions would be grand...I want to know what covers to print for this set and where it fits in my collection.

I apologize for this being off topic.

This version is not the LOOK version or from anyone else that is on this forum. The set was made and sold on ebay by someone named "pghpunk13" and a few other user IDs-all the accounts are now closed, of course. I had a version and gave it away as it was pretty bad. They were transferred from the DC LDs, but poorly encoded and authored. You can see bits of laser rot in a few scenes if you look closely. If for whatever reason you want this set, it is sold here.

TR47 - Thanks for letting us know - I've not seen any of the newer 5-Star as my Asian source as since change all of his info BUT if TR47 says they are POOP then they are POOP.

True be told the Asian bootlegs are all kinda bad (cept' for the DL SE which is OKAY - MebeJedi Should I send you my "ORIGINAL" SE LD's

)

In my opinion AT this time I would rate the available sets as this...

BEST ORIGINAL TRILOGY SETS

BEST PRESENTATION = The Dr. Gonzo set (Best representation of the "Definitive Collection")

BEST VIDEO = TR47/ROW47 sets (ROW47 = Rowman reauthored the set fixed the known error in Empire and added menus!!!)

BEST SOUND = The TR47/ROW47 Sets (The best Audio/Video in any set.. YET - but that PCM

decoded with DTS Neo6 is NICE)

BEST FEATURES = The "ISOMIX" set (BEST features and AWESOME menus!!

(This list will change once and IF the "XO" projects start to surface! - EVEN I'm planning to do a DL project with the resulting "XO"/MeBeJedi discs)

It will be a day or so more as I'm doing TOTALLY New Custom Covers for this set - SO please bear with me here...

I SHOULD have this up tomarrow - I made a modded cover based on the 2004 box set as a BASIC cover for this set and I've been working these last 24 hours or so (ON and off of course!!) for a COMPLETELY original set of covers and I'me REALLY diggin' the results. BUT these will NOT be in the torrent for this EDIT but they will be in the "COVERS" torrent! - MAYBE I'll have 1 cover done in a few days but MAN I have to say that I've NEVER spent this much time making a set of covers! (well MAGFAN's

)

Thanks for the info TR47. That sure is the set. The quality is crapola but it's posted on usenet and I guess that I just had to have it for my collection. Although I must say that the quality is a bit better than the asian LOOK bootleg trilogy that I bought off of ebay some years back. This set of the OT probably won't even get watched by me or shared with my friends, but I have it anyways. Ah well, at least the mystery is solved.

No problem... the set is so badly authored, there aren't even any chapter stops.. the discs are divided into 4-5 titles each, and once you go past one of the title points you can't go back past it, even if you try rewinding, it just stops at the last title and starts playing. It's very obvious the set was created solely for profit purposes, not quality or preservation.

I am sorry for my first post bieng like this, but if anybody has the Making of a Trilogy disc 1, could you seed it on myspleen?

I had it downloaded and somehow it got corrupted. I am in somewhat of a hurry since I have to go back to school tomorrow (restricted net access). I have my BT client set to unlimited and I have plenty of bandwidth, but am only downloading at 17kbps. If I dont have it in the next 15 hours, it will be weeks before I get another chance.

Do you mean to say you deleted the whole thing and starting over from scratch ???!?!?!!
Any modern BT client is able to resume a partial download, and the BT protocol has error checking built-in.
The client can identify which pieces are good, and only re-get the bad pieces.
Oh well, live and learn the hard way I guess....

How did you determine it to be corrupt ? By chance, did you have trouble burning it ?
Were you using mkisofs, or a GUI frontend to it ? If yes, you might check out what I wrote
near the end of the Dr.Gonzo thread regarding both "Making of" torrents.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Well the NFO is now done, The DVD transfered to External Drive and ALL I need to do now is move it over to my PC then make the torrnt directory....

The “ADigitalMan” Fan Edit of Return of the Jedi

Never a big detractor of the Star Wars Special Editions, fan editor
ADigitalMan was nonetheless discontented with a few of the conceptual changes.
The solution: change the parts he didn't like and start enjoying Return of the
Jedi once again.

Here is what sets the ADigitalMan edition apart from the official DVD.

* Using the PAL laserdisc as an alternate video source (reconverting the frame
rate to NTSC); Sebastian Shaw has been reinstated as the ghost of Anakin
Skywalker.

* Using an imported German language version of the 2004 DVD’s, the audio mix has
been modified to remove the last line in the trilogy being uttered by newly
added Gungans. Wesa Free from hearing "Wesa Free." (The stereo track in the
Dual-Layer version, the audio comes from the French track on the NTSC DVD.)

And in a change completely unique to this edition, the Special Edition song
"Jedi Rocks" has been replaced with the CD-version of "Lapti Nek", as sourced
from the 1993 Anthology Boxed Set. The Special Edition video in this sequence
has been re-edited to match the music. ADigitalMan states, “Not only did I grow
up with 'Lapti Nek' in the movie, but I grew up playing this for five years in
the stands at Friday night football games.’Lapti Nek' always had a special place
in my heart, so it had to be reinstated”.

I'm going to be "dead" for awhile while I download this - 64 MB RAM, plus two IRC clients (one running on a serial terminal), plus BitTornado, I kind of want to take it easy on the rest of the system in case it bones up and needs a reboot or whatever. Windows 2000 is not light. --;

I'll seed as long as it's feasible once I finish, but I can't guarantee much, as I also run an IRC fileserver, and it sometimes gets a bit busy.

Hey all,

I'm thinking on offering up an audio cd version that I made of the Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell 33 rpm record from the early 80's on myspleen.

Would people be interested in this? If so ill post up myspleen and see if i can get uploader status or maybe Rikter will be willing to upload it if i get him a copy. Let me know if there is interest enough and ill bring it up on myspleen.
