Not just for Splinter of The Mind’s Eye , (and the original SW novelization he ghosted for Lucas) but for novels based on the first three Alien films.

Very sad to hear of the medical difficulties in Alan Dean’s family. Oh, Disney… Never trust massive corporations to do anything other than whatever makes them the most money.
Is there a petition for this?
“Remember, the Force will be with you. Always.”
#DisneyMustPay is trending on Twitter right now, I didn’t expect that.
“Remember, the Force will be with you. Always.”
Yeah, really glad to see this get real public support.
That is low even for Disney.
I hope Alan Dean Foster rightly gets his royalties, and soon, along with a genuine apology.
The FE Renegades thread; from the people who post ‘go kill yourself’, ‘fuck you’, ‘let’s throw abuse’, and more at OT staff & members. Four years on and still throwing accusations, slurs and abuse at the OT & anyone outside their Salacious Crumb filled clique. + FE Discord “to vent” more at the OT. Wook’s take.
That gif is terrifying, but…an apt visual description of Disney’s behavior. I wish Alan Dean Foster the best and I hope he gets his due as soon as possible. If Disney gets away with this, then that will set a dangerous precedent for companies going forward.
But we can’t turn back. Fear is their greatest defense. I doubt if the actual security there is any greater than it was on Aquilae or Sullust. And what there is is most likely directed towards a large-scale assault.
I instantly recognised that gif. It’s from a French film from 1907 called Le Cochon Danseur.
But yeah, Disney can all go eat a bag of cocks. I do hope he gets his royalties.
I’d love to see Disney go out of business one day. Greedy fucks.
When’s something gonna happen?
JW Rinzler, who is currently fighting cancer, tweeted this a couple of days ago:
“Seems normal that #AlanDeanFoster s/ be paid, after all. I have similar concerns…”

It would appear Disney may well be doing this to a few authors out there?
I’ve been happy with most of the Star Wars content to come out of the Disney era, but as a corporation they have some horrible, unethical business practices. These cases are typical of how they treat creators. Moreover they’re buying literally every successful film company or franchise and so much of their stuff is unoriginal. I can’t think of a bigger threat to art as we know it today.
“Remember, the Force will be with you. Always.”
Wow, this horrendous. I can’t believe they can get away with not paying royalties due. I guess a contract doesn’t mean anything. I hope he takes them to court, gets a sympathetic judge and wins big. I still have my copy of “Splinter” that I read when I was in my early teens.
I would have had no idea this was happening if I hadn’t read it here. Thanks, SilverWook. I’m putting a link on my SW facebook pg now.
I hope Alan gets A LOT more support!
I saw a long interview he did with Midnight’s Edge on this situation and his thoughts on Disney Star Wars in general. I just got Splinter Of the Mind’s Eye in the mail but it is a royally old copy so Disney doesn’t get pennies.
I have the 1994 printing with the George Lucas forward. Though it isn’t stated on the title page. It is a reprint of Splinter of the Mind’s Eye. I also have the 1976 novelization of Star Wars signed by Alan, with the McQuarrie female Luke cover. A well read copy. I have the Force Awakens hardback, and i think i might have the Approaching Storm prequel EU novel.
I hope they eventually pay him his royalties.

Disney To Pay Star Wars Novelists Alan Dean Foster And More

Great news! I’m glad that not only is Dean Foster finally getting his book royalties, his case drew attention to a wider problem and this is now the first step in a campaign. Onwards to achieving proper company treatment of these lower profile writers.
“Remember, the Force will be with you. Always.”
I hope the work out the issues with Indiana Jones as well so they can reprint the comics at Marvel. If that is why they are not being reprinted because they don’t want to pay royalties. The rights transferred to Disney from Dark Horse.
Foster has a new book out about his career. Should be an interesting read!

P.S. I wouldn’t hesitate on this if you really want it. Centipede’s book on the making of The Shining sold out pretty fast and goes for obscene prices on Ebay.
