Yep Brewzter thats what I was trying to say 👍, it needs some sort of light worping effect on the sabres outine to lose that sharpness somewhat.

OK, thank you all for your advices, indeed I’ll try to see tomorrow if I can make the edges of the effect a bit smoother. Here’s an improved version of part 2 :

Wow, Luka! I see a big improvement on Part 2, and Part 3 looks great- you’re really getting the hang of this. And I can’t believe how fast you’ve been working! Really good stuff.

Looking good, like I said size and shape and all that looks spot on. But yes if you could work on smoothing it then it’d be perfect, you can still see some of that crunch in the close up shots (not as much an issue when further away or in fast motion - finding the right balance shot to shot will be key).

It’s good to check in on this thread and see things moving nicely. I agree, Luka, that that looks great. And I’d say feel free to see if Kylo can be made to say, “You’re just a clone.” Not 100% certain even a flawless delivery would fit in with existing footage, though we’re lucky no one’s mouth needs to be seen moving in that moment.

My stance on revising fan edits.

^ Agreed, making the crackle a bit less sharp still will help. I do think the edit is in a good state right now and I’m very happy with what you’ve done, but there’s always room for further improvement. Keep up the good work! 😄

Snooker did the first version of the Naboo shot and skenera worked on that to get it to what’s in the edit now.

I’ll check in with skenera then, see if it’s possible.

The other thing I’m curious about is the shot of Ben on the Death Star that’s been slowed down. I have a few moments in my own edit where I utilize Premiere’s built-in frame interpolation effect for slow-mo - but you can only push it so far, and there’s a couple of shots where I’ve pushed it too far, but I also kinda need to.

Credit has been given to Octoroxx and Luka Frik… wondering who here has the technology that I can poke for a request.

Hey, wondering if I can get a link to this.

Sorry if there’s a comment somewhere in this thread about obtaining it, but the thread is currently 300+ pages long; that’s a lot to catch up on!

May I get a link as well please? I’m really excited to watch this.

I used the “Optical Flow” effect in Premiere.

Hi, everybody. I really love this edit. In my opinion is the best way to save this movie and the sequel trilogy (as we all know this trilogy isn’t perfect, but I appreciated episode 7 and episode 8, and I don’t accept that it was an episode 9 so incoerented and wrong).
So, I’m working on Italian track of this edit (V1) and now I need your help to complete that.
Now, this first part of the post was to explain the content. Now I write in Italian to explain the project. Anyway, anyone interested, contact me in private. I have also open a specific thread.

Ciao a tutti.

  • Kylo Ren: “Avevi ragione”. (minuto 58:26)
  • Cavalieri di Ren: “Il wookie di Solo…” “Io mi prendo i suoi denti” (minuto 35:46) “Kylo Ren vuole la ragazza viva. Uccidete gli altri” (minuto 46:35) “bhe, guardate chi è arrivato. Traditore!” (a 1:45:43)

Really? I had tried that exact technique on that shot and didn’t like the results but yours looks great. But then again this was a few months ago so maybe I’m misremembering something.

I think the next workprint should be held off until theres quite a few more of the changes planned ARE implemented, great start with the crackling saber, happy to see things slowly lifting off again.

That Kylo/Palpatine interaction is interesting but I think it needs fixing if it makes its way into this edit.

If the saber get’s done, the only other major thing I can think of his the hair cut.

^ and after the haircut is done, jonh plans on adding Anakin into the final shot with the Force ghosts on Tatooine 😄 the whole Skywalker Force ghost family will be together
