Oh, duh. We talked about this. Wouldn’t work because of the scene with Poe and Lando.

What about during when Rey is trying to connect to the ghosts at the end? Sort of a way to say that Leia was a mediator between Rey and the ghosts?

Or just leave it that Leia was waiting for her son to fully come back to the light and the final two Skywalker’s “rise” above

The Skywalker Saga:
I · II · III · IV · V · VI · VII · VIII · IX
This is the way.

Rats I keep trying all these methods but I’ve been unsuccessful. Oye.

I had some free time today and finished 3/4 of the DVD cover art. Would it help sending you that once it’s done or would you prefer them all together?

Awesome! Frankly, I wouldn’t release torrents until it’s assembled, so I’d say you can send them either in parts or all at once.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Cool, I wasn’t sure if you were gonna do separate torrents for each. Did you want the iTunes graphic thing you sent me aswell?

I honestly can’t give a time frame on this as I’m so behind on my own stuff but I’ll try to finish it asap…

Could somebody help me answer this ?

Actually my question was also how to know if we have the latest versions. How could I compare the versions on my hard drive to the versions on your Drive ?

There should be a way to differentiate versions.
At the very least, we could differentiate them by exact size.

No one’s really answering your question, they just keep telling you what versions are on the Drive right now.

There’s really no good way to tell which version is on your hard drive at this moment unless you still have the included Readme/changelist text file, which should say which version it is.

If you don’t have that, there’s no good way to differentiate without going back and checking the changelists of each version and seeing if certain unique changes are there in the version on your hard drive.

Unfortunately, the only place I know of to look at the changelists for every version is on the MySpleen uploads…if I have time tonight I’ll go through them and make some notes of what specific things to look for in each edit to determine which version you have.

Yeah, maybe. I was hoping not to have two audio tracks

As the guy who’s going to end up encoding the DTS versions of those tracks…

Yes, please, I’d SO very much prefer a no-KoR-dialogue track option. That would solve my only nagging problem with V1 - I really don’t like the new lines.

Nah, lemme just export it and get it to you, Ash. I’ll remux and reupload once I do since the torrents haven’t been made yet anyway. 😃

could i also get in on this, or will you put it up on gdrive?

I’d love to get a copy of this if it’s ready. Sounds like it’s the best salvaging effort you’ve done since Ep 2.

Actually, could I get all three of your ST edits?

I have a proposal: it could be possible add using a dub voice or a vocal sintetizer which imitate Palpatine’s voice to explain better the relationship between Palpatine and Rey and the way which Palpatine comes back? I think that these importants passages can’t be explained in extra media like novel or comics. The movie had to be standalone in my opinion, and not explained using “DLC” like a videogame.

I’ve only heard four acceptable impersonators. One, Ian Abercrombie, has sadly since passed away. The others, Sam Witwer, Tim Curry, and Nick Jameson, are all out of the budget I imagine 😅

Plus getting anyone to do an impression that blends seamlessly will be a tall order at best. Look at how split everyone here is on the Knights of Ren voices, and those don’t have to replicate and work within/around an existing performance.

Lol. You fly too high! Anyway there’s a software “Overdub” that can replicate/imitate any voice if you give it a sample of the voice you need it. I saw many videos and it’s incredible.

Yeah. If anyone here remembers Ivan Ortega’s TLJ edit, then they’ll remember what happened when he tried to have someone replace a few of Luke’s lines. It didn’t sound good or blend with the original lines at all. I’m afraid that any attempt by non-professional voice actors to impersonate characters will suffer from similar problems.

And I’ve heard of that AI voice simulator, but from the samples I heard it doesn’t sound like it’s ready yet. It has this sort of uncanny valley effect that makes it weird to listen to.

My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:
I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX

Yeah, it’s pie in the sky still. Once AI voice replication is nailed it would open up many possibilities for fan edits.

And I’ll replace what’s on the drive with versions that include the alternate track, and the torrents will include it when they’re produced.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Episodes I through 3 are on V6.
ANH is on V2, with V3 planned.
ESB is on V3, with V4 planned.
ROTJ is freshly on V2.
TFA is on V4.
TLJ is on V4.
TROS is on V1.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I’ve been able to successfully check all episode versions AND get Yub Nub v2. Happy!
You may hate this question but… any vague ETA for ANH v3 and ESB v4 ?
Once again, thank you for all your work. 😃

Absolutely love the addition of all of the Jedi ghosts helping Rey finish off Palpatine. My favorite part of the edit by far.
