TFA: A Gentle Restructure (Released) — Page 91

Y’all I’m wondering, since the destruction of the New Republic has hardly any bearing on the plots of TLJ & ROS, would cutting it entirely work? So like, they destroy SKB BEFORE it fires at all?

One of my biggest issues with the ST is the ways they undo story telling from the OT. The new republic they worked so hard to build? Gone. The emperor they killed? Been alive the WHOLE time.

Since SKB fires so late in this version anyway, it should be doable, right?

If the New Republic were to survive, where are they during the events of TLJ and ROS? It’s a small bit of the plot but it’s still essential that it be somehow eliminated or rendered helpless. I don’t see a more effective way of doing that than just destroying it like TFA did. If there was some exposition explaining how it’s so compromised by First Order operatives that it’s functionally helpless to stop their invasion, it might actually undermine the Rebel victory even more.

What are the instructions for burning the DVD5 files? I have a macbook

It should be ready to go. I am pretty sure all you’d need to do is author the VIDEO_TS folder and any other computer-readable files you want to include on there. I’d also include an empty AUDIO_TS folder just in case; some older DVD players get confused if that’s missing.

I figured it out! I now have to actually burn the disc image I made 😃 Do you know of a way to make a menu using the VIDEO_TS files? I’m thinking of adding it as a bonus disk to my DVD cases?

Adding menus would be a fairly elaborate process, and you’d need software geared toward it. You’d have to rip the video, audio, and subtitle streams and recreate the DVD from those.
Personally, I never bothered with DVD menus; just start the damn movie. And I know what audio and subtitle options there are going in.

The 1080p version has had its download quota exceeded for 2 straight weeks now…

Google Drive is becoming shit for sharing edits. It took me, what, a whole week just do download the friggin’ audio stems to encode the DTS track? That’s just absurd.

I check daily on Drive to see if V4’s download quota is over but every single day it’s the same. Does anyone have the 1080p V4 downloaded and could somehow get a copy to me? Everything is Hal’s drive has exceeded its quota.

To get around Google Drives “Exceeded Quota” issue first log into Google Drive then:

Right click on file then Make A Copy, After that go to My Drive tab on left and download from there.

I’ve tried to do that, but it never actually makes the copy. I have legit left google drive run overnight and it did not make a copy. I don’t know what the issue is.

That is odd as I just did that tried the fix myself with no issues 🤔
Are you seeing the copy you made in My Drive ?

No copy ever makes it to my drive, it is just ALWAYS preparing a copy for my drive but never actually happens. If you have a copy in your drive would you be willing to share it with me?

After checking out the awesome TROS Resurgence and TLJ Rekindled, I’m thinking this TFA edit is the next one. A new head canon for the sequel trilogy! Can I get a pm? Thank you!

Copying stopped working for me in the middle of downloading the individual stems for Hal’s TROS project to encode the DTS track. I had to wait, like, 3 days to download the center, LFE, and rear channel AIFF files.

Seems the only real way to get around the quota now is to right click on the FOLDER containing the files you want, and click “download,” forcing Drive to ZIP all of the the files inside the folder (though it usually won’t actually ZIP the large MKV file itself, that will just start downloading after it ZIPs everything else). You just have to wait for the ZIP process to finish.

The copy method no longer works, and the straight download method seems to be perpetually at quota.

Google Drive fucking sucks for fanedit sharing now, man…

Torrents would’ve been great, but it seems like no one is seeding the TFA edits.
