Looked through the Knights of Ren dialgoue and personally a lot of it doesn’t work in my opinion. I think Poppa’s KOR sounds best worked really well on Kajimmi when knight steps out of alleyway, I don’t think dialogue is needed during Forging sequence and Pasanna lines available aren’t very good.

Also liked Axlanians lines on Exogal. KOR wilhelm is nice.

I don’t think the intention was to use all of them. I believe Hal said he was going to just use a few. Personally, I think the best ones are Pasaana, Kijimi, and the pause in fighting on Exegol.

I played with them just a little tonight. I don’t think it’d be great to add a line during the mask reforging scene because it distracts from Kylo after his vision.

I like the pasaana lines, and Kijimi’s. I’ve only messed with the first of the three Exegol lines so far but I think they work. I may choose to skip the second of the three. Not sure yet!

Poppa saying “Palpatine wants the girl alive” is a nice line he did 3 takes I think we could splice better parts together for some of these lines, I think it would be better as “Palpatine wants the girl alive” - “I can feel her presence” https://youtu.be/4dTRvsB9z4U

Knight of ren saying “what, thats not fair” seemed a bit strange and out of place to be honest.
“What, how” works best. https://youtu.be/n3onCUE9fog

Yup. The point of the voice pack was to give options, including every good line idea that users here agreed on recording. I trust Hal’s judgment to see the big picture and include the lines that work best in the movie as a whole.

And I probably won’t get down to the level of splicing takes together. There’ll only be a few lines used and they’re fine for what they are. And it’s fun to include the results of that project.

Are you going to add the KOR voices to the cast list in the credits 😛

For the Falcon breaking through the ice, could it be extended or slowed down? A single second of crashing through ice doesn’t feel right for the level of damage we see. An extra second would sell it better.

Another thing I noticed is that ROTS, ROTJ and TROS have two HAL 9000 cuts, while the other films have just one.

While the KoR lines work in a specific scene sense, I’m not sure if they will blend into the movie very well. Right now we have a silent group of evildoers and I think that voices have the chance to ruin certain scenes.

What immediately comes to mind is the scenes on Exegol where the focus of the scenes we recorded lines for are on Palpatine’s monologue to Rey and Ben taking up his grandfather’s saber.

I’m just not sure that it will fit in the context of the film as a whole. We shall see

After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.

I don’t remember whose recordings each was, but as it stands here’s what I’ve implemented:

As Chewie runs off on Pasaana, two KoR say, “Solo’s Wookiee,” and “I get his teeth.” The latter turns his head and it feels like it always was that way.

On Kijimi, the KoR step into frame and the apparent leader says, “Palpatine wants the girl alive. Kill the rest.”

On Exegol, as the KoR step out from around the corner to confront Ben, two say, “Well look who finally made it,” and “Traitor!” The latter is an obvious mirror to Kylo in TFA, highlighting his transformation.

Later, when he pulls the lightsaber out of his ass, a KoR says, “What? How?” And then they all get chopped up, with a few vocalizations that have always been there.

I don’t think these are intrusive, and are 4 out of 6 possible moments for KoR dialogue. (Excluded are “may our bond never again be shattered” during the helmet reforging, and “You betray us for a scavenger” between the other two Exegol lines.)

As far as adding lines, these are the ones that would make sense. I’d love to see them in context, especially if they have effects to match the original vox from the film.

These additions are the least intrusive and I think its the best implementation you could have used.

Just a thought, sorry to labour the point, what if Finn’s line of ‘we just landed’ is replaced with foley like crunching leaves etc, giving a bit of breathing space in his sudden appearance. I still think though that Finn and Rey (the best of best friends) basically ignore each other by cutting out the previous scene.

Still it is weird that they hug at relief of seeing each other when they practically see each other everyday.

Does anyone here have an interest in making Snoke out to be an apprentice of some sort of Palpatine? Since the vat of his clones have been replaced, I think it could work, but it would also result in the removal of his line, “you have ever heard.”

I have been an advocate of this for awhile. I think it is cleaner and harkens back to the PT and OT of Palpatine always having an apprentice, but always looking for a stronger and often younger one. Also, I think you could imply Snoke maybe is withholding info from Palpatine and possibly thinks he could supplant him in his weaken state especially with the FO and Kylo Ren as his ally. The reconning between TLJ and TRoS has made for a murky grey area of how much Palpatine knew and controlled Snoke. Sheev seems genuinely surprised Kylo and Rey are a dyad in the force, yet Snoke says he bridged their minds and seems to have a better grasp of their force link then “The Senate”.
