The person who made that says that it’s going to be part of an alternate version of 4K77 called the “Skywalker Edition”. I’ve never heard of it, but oohteedee did a similar restoration of the panning shot on his D+77 version.

That is by SkyDude. I used the drive-by shot for D+77.

The “Skywalker Edition” is a project made by SkyDude on thestarwarstrilogy forum. It won’t be finished for a very long time though, and last I checked he was still working on a 1080p proof-of-concept version titled “SkyMaster Edition”. D+77, if I recall, uses Skydude’s version of that speeder shot.

SkyDude’s projects are created using only the 35mm print scanned material with the exception of that shot, as far as I know. From what I’ve seen he doesn’t like the official UHD master.

I honestly don’t know who is actually considered part of “the team” if not everyone involved, but SkyDude has helped TN1 on the ‘official’ TN1 releases before.

EDIT: Sniped, that’s what I get for letting the page sit open without posting. :p

THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

I actually was the dude (I’m not sure if anyone else brought it up beforehand) who gave attention to this on the Star Wars Trilogy Forums on the D+77 thread (I think?) about how badly the vaselined shot was and even took a crack at restoring it for my cancelled ANH: “Custom Special Edition” fan-edit, which I only completed like 1 second of it because of how slow my computer was (aswell as my subpar VFX skills)

I later then talked to SkyDude on PM’s about the blurry shot since he could actually fix that shot and so the final infamous “Mos Eisley wide pan” shot was made by him.
