Hmmmmm… it still feels weird to refer to jumping to lightspeed right after physically bursting through a barrier as ‘lightspeed skipping.’
It could refer to Poe altering or skipping proper lightspeed calculations causing the Falcon to be damaged on the jump to hyperspace. Either way it’s just nebulous technobabble without the actual skipping scene.

FWIW, this is how it would read to me too. Poe is about to do something crazy to escape, Chewy reacts to it, the Falcon bursts through an ice wall into hyperspace. It seems like that would be enough to damage the Falcon and justify an argument with Rey about it. The “skipping” part would just sound like random technobabble to me.

Yeah, my only issue with that currently is that the Falcon looks perfectly fine when it bursts through the ice wall, making it seem like the damage occured afterward.

Good start, I would actually have them stagger a bit and break off in different directions. When I say stagger, the first one breaks off the furthest down in one direction, the second TIE will break off course a bit sooner and at a different direction and the third sooner either the same direction as the first or second. They don’t have to be drastic break off departures, but depending on how many TIES are used for the shot, they all vary a bit or some more so than the others. It may make it feel more organic.

Yeah I guess that would feel more Star Warsy for them to scatter. If they’re chasing someone who got away, though, why would they do a sudden about face in empty space? They’re not about to crash into anything? And why fly in different directions instead of forming up together?

Beautiful! Really my only nitpick is that the explosions look more like they’re happening behind the Destroyer. If we could see one explosion on the hull itself when it tips over, or add some smoke/debris in front of the Destroyer, I think that would help sell it.

And, poppasketti, that’s already preferable to what I have, assuming the music won’t be an insurmountable issue for me. But I agree, a more dramatic, sudden set of twists away from their trajectory would make for a more unmistakable read.

Is it just me, or do the buildings seem very dark for the brightness of the sunset? I guess the light is from behind them, so they would be silhouetted, but maybe dim the sunset a little bit (or find an ever-so-slightly less vibrant one?) to let the ship explosions and building lights stand out a little bit more? Honestly I quite like the existing sky, but I also want to make sure it isn’t distracting from the rest.

YES, that’s what we neeeeed. If anything I’d have them peel off sooner. I’ll be happy to put together audio for it. I’ve got the original 5.1 mix for reference of how it should sound coming into frame.

Sounds good! Could you send me a clip with the audio and the wipe? That will help me adjust timing. It’s really hard to just slide everything forward because the parabolas get out of whack really easily. I also made the Vimeo link downloadable so you can see how it feels on your end too if you’d like to test!

Why did Hux’s “I’m the spy.” line get removed in WP V3?
Poe and Finn’s reactions feel kinda jarring without the line. Plus I thought it was kinda funny too. Like it or not Hux is the First Order’s Jar Jar haha
The next new stormtrooper 3po joke is hilarious but the voice line sounds like it was obviously added in. I think the audio there could maybe use a little reworking or maybe a better filter.
