What if to preserve the surprise in TESB, Yoda’s name was never used in the PT. The Jedi call him “master” and you never hear his name then when you watch TESB you think Yoda is the name of another Jedi who survived. Then when you see him on Dagobah you think he really will take Luke to see “Yoda”.

That doesn’t make any sense.

Yeah, just never show Yoda. If you saw Yoda be a Jedi then we would immediately know who he was.

If anything I think you might have it backwards, you would do better to never see Yoda but hearing his name is just fine.

I feel like a couple of things are well and truly spoiled now, and Yoda’s identity is one of them. Culture has absorbed that bit of knowledge, you’d have to go extra young to find someone for whom you could preserve the suprise. (Source: My four year old knows so much Star Wars passively that she immediately called out the Darksaber when it appeared in the Mandalorian)

To be truthful you have to be pretty young even without any pop culture knowledge to spend more than a minute or so with Yoda and not realize it’s him, the official reveal is more for Luke than the audience save for young children. Darth Vader was the real twist.

Has anyone considered giving Dooku Sith eyes in RotS? I know the more popular idea is to make him more morally ambiguous, but I prefer making him more evil to give the trilogy a unifying villain and to gel with his portrayal in TCW.

If the movies existed in isolation without the TV shows (which for me, they don’t), I’d be an advocate for making both Dooku’s and Qui Gon’s sabers the same purple as Windu’s, to imply this kind of grey area of force users, with Dooku being the lesson that there’s a risk they’ll turn sith. As for eyes, eh, I don’t think he’s that dark/powerful to deserve it.

Well he uses Force lightning, which is generally reserved for powerful Sith.

Does anyone have access to a version of the AotC deleted scene “Anakin and Padme on trial” without the subtitles?

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

Do you have the Blu-ray?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

Digital Copy. Is it Blu-Ray exclusive?

That’s perfectly fine, dvd, digital, Blue Ray etc as long as its an official copy.

When was R2 his copilot?

Yeah, I don’t think he ever owned R2. R4 was probably just a standard issue Republic droid, so I don’t think the droid line from A New Hope is contradicted. Seems like something someone said online, and then people endlessly regurgitated it in the prequel hate train to the point where no one questioned it.

In the PT Obi-Wan and R2 fight together during many battles but when he sees R2 again in ANH, he clearly has never seen him before when he says “I don’t recall ever owning a droid”. So after 17-20 years he doesn’t recognize his own copilot? What are we supposed to think? That Obi-wan went senile?

I thought it was another “certain point of view” thing, since Anakin says in Attack of the Clones that possession is forbidden for a Jedi, so the reason Obi-Wan doesn’t remember owning a droid is because he never technically owned anything.

So a few radical technical/resource questions.

First, I was wondering about the possibility of completely redubbing the clones in Ep 2 & 3 with Dee Bradley Baker from The Clone Wars? He recorded so much dialogue for that series there had to be enough to convincingly cobble together dialogue that either resemble or match the little dialogue the Clones actually have in the films.

Second, pitching all of Hayden’s episode 3 lines lower so that his voice sounds closer to Matt Lanter’s Anakin.

Three, redubbing Maul in episode 1 with Sam Witwer.

I’m not asking anyone to do these things for me, just some opinions on technical feasibility.

Cheers!

I’m disappointed no one has done this yet.

I believe the audio tracks are separate on the clone wars dvds - or cleaner than we’re used to with the other movies. So in theory obtaining the audio shouldn’t be too hard. There might be times you had to make a line work with something similar rather than getting an exact match but I like all 3 ideas here.

Not sure why anybody would do this, since they are CLONES then you would have to redub Jango as well. Why take away his natural voice in all its New Zealander gloriousness and replace it with an American doing an impersonation?
