Did you flip that shot of Boba in Jabba’s palace or was that done on the initial release of 4K83?

Either way, I’m glad to see it corrected. That shot always bothered me.

Following the completion of my work on 4K77, I decided to give 4K83 the same treatment. Here’s reel 1:

That shot is from the Lapti Nek scene, which has always been like that (not mirrored). The mirrored shots of Boba Fett you’re thinking of are from the Boushh/Chewie scene. Presumably they stay mirrored in this version.

You’re right. I should have noticed that from the order of the images.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Excellent work, Dre. 4K83 badly needed this. Are you working on any other color correction projects now? If not, could I interest you in color correcting the UHD’s?

Thanks! 😃 I have been working on some global corrections for the UHD’s, but I think a shot by shot is in order!

I believe the latest releases of 4K83 haven’t made it to the Spleen. You should register at thestarwarstrilogy forums if you want info on how to get them right away.

EDIT: oops, Dre beat me to it. 😛

I love the new color correction, always felt the print they used was a little mute and cold. (Emperor’s pale blue face).
But, it’s great to see the original print and have a color corrected version as well.

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

I’m working on an updated version of the reel by reel color grading, because the current one is a bit too greenish, and a bit too dark and muted. Here’s the newly remastered reel 1:

How does this compare to the new official 2020 UHD releases?
Edit: Oh and to clarify I mean in terms of the 4k scan
