As for Hal’s titling, I like it a lot. If he had the space always could simply put a VNUMBER at the end, but hey, we all only have so much space to spare!

And while I appreciate ideas, I think the crawl as it is is pretty good, and I don’t see these alternates as improvements. Usually you want to say what you have to say in as few words as possible, and I tried to emulate the original crawl somewhat closely aside from what we had reason to chance (introducing SKB and tweaking for clarity).
Yeah communication is one of my many weaknesses. If a person had unlimited hard drive space, one could have the movie LastJedV2.mp4 and LastJediV3.mp4 to be hosted. Sorry that was hard to understand Hal! Me as terrible communicator okie day?

lol, you’re perfectly fine. Thanks. Yeah, I get so much Google Drive space and a lot of it is used for other stuff I need. All the various encoded of one of these versions is about 45GB. I do host an alternate version of LOE, but there’s just not room for more.
I won’t be able to add Kylo watching the sun get sucked up because, as has been said, the order of scenes precludes it. NeverAr was able to because he restructures the order of scenes in ways this edit doesn’t call for. Oh, well.
I used Ridley’s audio which adds a subtle bit of the Emperor’s theme as we see the Vader mask. Not too much but would have been something we’d have picked up on if it were there in 2015.
I added foley from the trailer for the X-wing destroying a TIE over Takodana which was oddly silent in the movie. It’s not a dramatic change, but eh.
I added a line from Palpatine over Rey’s vision. I worked it in during gaps in other random lines from the films. As Rey stands up in the rain we hear “It is unavoidable” and as Kylo turns to face her we hear “It is your destiny.” I think this would have been perfectly thematically consistent with TFA on its own, since Rey refuses the call shortly afterward.
I also added some porg sounds to Ach-To, very subtly. Almost splitting the difference between adding some and not.
Finn waking up after the TIE crash on Jakku more or less looks like NeverAr’s version, visually suggesting daybreak.
That’s all I’ve gotten to so far. How do we all feel about the idea of removing Han tossing a guy to the rathtar? (I’m so-so on it.) Same with the no-look shot.
I like Han tossing the guy, personally. The no-look shot I could do without.
I’m the opposite, ironically! I don’t care for Han tossing the guy and the rathtar burping out a shoe, but I like Han’s no-look shot.

As far as the rathtar and no-look shots, I can go either way. I was originally an advocate for keeping the no-look because of Ben’s no-look in TROS but in the end it doesn’t really matter.
The ‘huh’ could use some massaging. Would it be possible to stretch the audio a little so it sounds a little more drawn out?
I like all the above changes and ideas from a few posts above Hal, I am behind those all the way.
The Han Toss I am a ok with. I also like the direction of the “huh” if it can be touched up a little bit. I think I see what Tobar is saying … How many “huhs” does Ford have to work with?!

I always liked it, and don’t find it unbelievable, especially with Han being the skilled shooter we know he is. There’s a lot of other stuff more unbelievable in these movies. It’s the kind of thing you would see in a cowboy movie (Han is pretty much a space cowboy) and they don’t have the force. I think it should stay, especially with the callback to it that we get with Ben in TROS.

Would it be possible to create a reaction shot? I feel like the ‘huh’ would work alot better with a brief reaction shot of Han. With something as short and simple as ‘huh’ you wouldn’t even need a shot with his lips moving

Noice. It feel like the volume on “So…” is a bit louder than the following line, but that was the only thing I noticed. Maybe I’m wrong though.
That would make sense, since it was originally from a close-up. Which of the two versions do you feel is more natural?
