The 2 Ewok Films - 'Caravan Of Courage' (aka 'The Ewok Adventure'), & 'Battle For Endor' — Page 3

Has anyone one here introduced these two films to their children?

It would be interesting to see how these two mid-80’s movies hold up to children watching them today…

Well, I watched these first time in my 20s and fell asleep on the first one… The second one I at least could sit through. I have a hard time to believe that these wouldn’t put kids to sleep. Now or in the 80s.

Edit: and to make a point, I rarely fall asleep watching a movie. Probably less than 5 times in this millennium. I’m not one of those that sleep on every movie.

Yep, my kids ages 5, 7, & 9 loved both of them a lot, But they are probably different from most kids these days as they haven’t seen many modern movies. We watch a lot of old classics, westerns, older live-action Disney movies, and 80’s classics.

Lucky kids. That’s what I’ll do if I have any.

They’re kids movies first and foremost. They’re fun in that context. (The second one gets a bit dark, but that’s George for you.) Some people judged them harshly at the time possibly because they were expecting something on the level of a regular Star Wars film for tv, and there was still Ewok loathing around a year or two after ROTJ.

I’d be surprised if Disney doesn’t make an Ewok film for their streaming service. Lucas did say once there was going to be a third film, but it was getting too expensive. Cindel all grown up standing next to Wicket in TROS would have been a nice touch, even it if baffled casual fans. 😉

Hi Silverwook:

Can you track down that guy who did buy the Ewoks movie films and ask him if he would like to participate in a digital film preservation project?

Those films will deteriorate and be unwatchable eventually and then no one will be able to get an HD version!
But, not like the SW holiday special. That SW show must remain as an obscure DVD fan preservation for the sake of humanity.

Someone fluent in French would have to pursue the matter. Film collectors are usually shy about divulging such information, for obvious reasons. Only a print of the first film was sold.

I’ve seen a DVD set of both movies on amazon and ebay for around $30-$40. Thought about buying many times but always procrastinated. I do not see them at all on amazon now. At one time they were also available to purchase digitally on amazon, but I don’t see them there anymore either. Checked ebay for the discs and prices have went up around $80-$100.

It’s odd that Disney hasn’t done a simple repressing of the old Fox flipper DVD at the very least.

Wow! They did take them down for digital purchase! That’s a shame, I kept procrastinating on it.

Hi Silverwook:

I know high school French and can use google translate, but TMBTM fan editor lives in Quebec, Canada and is fluent in French. Do you want to ask TMBTM (the man behind the mask) fan editor if he can make some inquiries on this Ewoks 16mm film to track down the new owner to see if s/he would like to participate in a Star Wars film preservation?

Drew Struzan posted up his ‘Caravan Of Courage’ film poster earlier today:-

‘Who remembers “Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure”? Here’s my original finished art for the poster.’

Some great comments in the replies - and a few more images too…

The FE Renegades thread; from the people who post ‘go kill yourself’, ‘fuck you’, ‘let’s throw abuse’, and more at OT staff & members. Four years on and still throwing accusations, slurs and abuse at the OT & anyone outside their Salacious Crumb filled clique. + FE Discord “to vent” more at the OT. Wook’s take.

I bought the DVD for 30 dollars ages ago the official release. So why do the Laserdiscs go for so much.
They cannot possibly be so rare that they are worth a hundred dollars.
I think the price is being inflated due to Disney owning Lucasfilm. You used to be able to buy the Laserdiscs for 25 dollars like 15 years ago.
I like the films but i don’t a hundred dollars a piece like them.

I paid around $40-50 for a factory sealed copy of one of them on ebay well over a decade ago. It was a gap in my SW LD collection I wanted to fill. It’s all supply and demand with Laserdiscs. And going by sold ebay listings, demand is high. I doubt they were pressed in the same numbers as the OT or Phantom Menace.
