Patience. Eventually. With disc and cover art AND menus. AND dual-layer. No single layer version. Rikter has a single layer version. If you want it, ask him.

And no whining about dual layer. It's about time we started realising that dual-layer is here. In a years time I'm hoping all my new releases will be h.264 encoded on Blu-Ray or HD-DVD (or if those idiots at Sony and Toshiba get their act together a unified format). I'm even thinking of delaying Science Of Star Wars for the new format seeing as I have the HD transfers.

Again, check out my thread. We're teaming up to give you the best possible sources for certain programs. It will have the same great quality supplied by me with the same great cover art and menus supplied by babyhum!

The galleries on The Story Of ILM DVD are amazing, especially the behind the scenes pics of Samuel L. Jackson on the set and the storyboards.

Baby hum, can you tell how you obtain them ?

Here's some interesting stats from myspleen.

bh001 snatched 640 times
bh002 snatched 40 times
bh003 snatched 71 times
bh004 snatched 177 times

And my future plans...

bh005: The A to Z of Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. Extras include complete coverage of the opening of EP2 in the UK
bh006: When Star Wars Ruled The World. New NTSC transfer thanks to DigitalFreakNYC. Extras include the extended Triumph the Comic Insult Dog skit from the EP2 line.
bh007: Star Wars: Heroes & Villains. Still with the AOL CD but with a couple of TBC extras AND reauthored to work in all players
bh008: Star Wars: Feel The Force. Extras include all the Sky & Orange trailers plus whatever else I can cram on (maybe some commercials)
bh009: POSSIBLY Generation Jedi, I'm still waiting for a clip I need as an extra.
bh010 onwards: TBC

I'm hoping these will be ready for torrenting in the next couple of weeks depending on work commitments.

Hello babyhum,

On bh006 for the VH1 special, what happened with the raw TiVo footage and extras I sent that you were going to use on the re-release? Is the footage from DigitalFreakNYC actually better quality? You certainly have my blessing to use that instead if that's the case. However, don't forget to include the bonus interviews from the VH1 site I sent you.

Just making sure. I've been looking forward to seeing your final version of this for a while now.

I've compared the two and DigitalFreakNYC's transfer just comes out on top. I've noticed with some TiVo transfers some interlacing issues. I will be including the bonus interviews.

I'm working on DigitalFreakNYC's Indy discs at the moment and as soon as I get the first 3 done I'll be back working on the next 4 re-releases.

Excellent. Sounds like it will be even better, then.

BTW, babyhum, I now have a TiVo of the AFI George Lucas Tribute... are you planning on doing a release of that one?

First of all I just wanted to say a big "thank you" to BabyHum for all the hard work he has done on these releaes (as well as everyone else that gets them out to the public). I've DL'd them all, and am eagerly awaiting the others.

Now, a quick question (only a question, not a complaint). My DVD player only plays NTSC discs, it will not play PAL discs. All of the releases are in the PAL format. I've used the patch method to change from PAL to NTSC and the discs play fine on my DVD player. Except that on the menu screens, the text is a little messed up. The white text is about 4 - 5 inches above where the blue text shows up omn the screen (the blue text being what color the menu item is when you have it selected I am guessing, while the white text is the other, unselected options) which makes it a little confusing to select which button you want to click. Does this have something to do with the patch method that I used to change from PAL to NTSC or did I do something else entirely wrong?

I can try to take a screenshot if anyone doesn't understand what I mean with the white/blue text not lining up properly.

Thanks again.

Yes. We have teamed up for that as well. It will be dual layered and MUCH better than the one already released.

I still think that some of us would like to have a single disc release as well as the double disc version if possible. Those of us that are not on fast link will have to wait twice as long to download a DL version and not having a DL burner will then have to convert it to SL before burning. I do not what prices people around the world have for DL discs but here in Sweden they cost ca $10.

There is a single disc version available via Rikter. Look on myspleen.net and you'll find it. I'm not going to release a SL version as I'm moving with the times and I'm not going to compromise quality. If someone had captured in HD then I'd wait for the next gen of DVD before I released it.

Capture equipment: Panasonic DMR-E100H HDD/DVD Recorder

Description:
Transmitted on the ITV network in the UK on May 25th 2002, "The A To Z Of Star Wars: Episode II" was a 25 minute programme consisting of EPK interviews with the cast, documentary footage and scenes from the film edited to form an alphabetic look at the movie (A is for Anakin, B is for bluescreen etc.). I originally posted this footage in 24 parts on theforce.net in VCD format, and also sent some early DVD copies out to a chosen few. When originally recorded onto DV, the image was anamorphic but it had a 4x3 pixel aspect ratio. I have now fixed the aspect ratio and this version is a proper 16x9 transfer (thanks to Adobe Premiere).
Note: The original programme features source material of varying qualities.

Yes, i know what you're thinking. "These re-releases are all well and good, but when are we going to see something new?"

I never intended these re-releases to take so long, and this disc has taken more time than i wanted to spend on it. The authoring was a bitch. This final version is actually the third draft! That, and the work I'm doing with DigitalFreakNYC has slowed the process down slightly, but I intend to get the remaining re-releases out as soon as I can. Believe me, I'm more bored with them than any of you.

Next... When Star Wars Ruled The World. With... Outtake interviews (in the DVD_ROM section, I don't want to reencode these) & possibly the uncut Triumph the Comic Insult Dog sequence from the AOTC line.

And just to keep you up to date on the distribution of these discs:

Metallaxis, Russs15 & Rikter are kindly upping the releases to myspleen.net for everybody to download

segaflip will be posting them to alt.binaries.starwars as soon as he receives them (he should receive 1 to 4 next week)

klokwerk is now my official distributor for the southern hemisphere. So if you live in Australia or New Zealand (or nearby, in a geographical sense) get in touch with him via PM and I'm sure he'll see what he can do.

If Segaflip gets bh005 onwards onto a.b.sw as fast as his recent uploads, there will be plenty of people who can seed when the torrents start.
