Also, as in regards to Rebels … no offense, but anything thats been shown, portrayed, etc. doesn’t really matter and is goofy. Time travel … enough said.
Spinning helicoptisabers are goofier than time travel could ever be.
My gut tells me removal of eyebrows makes more sense due to him being burned with lava and his hair didn’t grow back. Pretty much like Rogue One depects Vader in the Bacta tank.

“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”
Within the OT alone, GL always conceived of Vader as a character who fell into a volcano and gets burned even before ANH.

It’s about Ben and Luke’s father and Vader when they are young Jedi knights. But Vader kills Luke’s father, then Ben and Vader have a confrontation, just like they have in Star Wars, and Ben almost kills Vader. As a matter of fact, he falls into a volcanic pit and gets fried and is one destroyed being. That’s why he has to wear the suit with a mask, because it’s a breathing mask. It’s like a walking iron lung. His face is all horrible inside. I was going to shoot a close-up of Vader where you could see the inside of his face, but then we said, no, no, it would destroy the mystique of the whole thing.
So I guess it would make more sense for his eyebrows to be burned off.

He has eyebrows in Rogue One and Rebels, funnily enough.
There is just one second of film in Rogue One (as he gets out of the bacta tank) where his face is visible, and he doesn’t have eyebrows there.

Hi adywan,
As a suggestion for this scene I would say to use the original unaltered face of Sebastian Shaw without the eyebrows.
I kinda like him without eyebrows in a “Special Edition” like this.
I think the effect was done convincingly and it matches his wounds n’ burns.

I agree.
The only SE change that I didn’t like in that scene is him trying to look like Hayden by having his eye color changed from brown to blue and his skin tone changed to match the PT.
Who says Han wanted to be reassuring ? 😄
Definitely one way it could be taken, especially since the betrayal would still be pretty real and fresh in Han’s mind after being frozen in carbonite till not long before. The fact Lando is obviously there helping with the rescue effort wouldn’t undo the emotional affects of the betrayal.
Ugh, here we go with this again…

WTF are you on about man? I think I know what you’re referring to but it’s got nothing to do with my above comment or this thread.
I would love to see Shaw as the Force ghost but with Anakin’s leather outift of Episode 3 and maybe a haircut that matches more Episode 3 Anakin.
“What’s up, fellow kids.”
Well, it might seem ridiculous, but why does he have hair as Shaw’s Force Ghost ? 😄
Because after his redemption and death he is restored in the Force to the way he ought to be rather than the way he was.

Exactly. His ‘repentance’ was enough. When he died, he was restored, not merely regressed.
Yes, those shots are from Jedi.
You can see Luke walking behind Vader on this shot:

That’s not Luke, that’s the officer he tells to “Bring My Shuttle”/“Alert My Star Destroyer To Prepare For My Arrival”.

I see you put “repentance” in quotes.

Err… yeah? I did that only because it’s a weird word to use for it but the best word for the task. Unless there’s some reference you’re making that flew over my head.
Repentance means having to say you’re sorry, which Darth Göring never did.

Look Who’s back… (W.I.P.)
With the Sebastian Shaw force ghost of Anakin restored in this shot the scene of Luke removing Vader’s helmet revealing Anakin’s face should without a doubt be the unaltered original face.

I’m still gonna vote no eyebrows. If his eyebrows grew back, his hair should have too.
I don’t care which is more accurate, but eyebrows convey so much emotion. People without them look pretty alien, so having the redeemed Vader in his only real scene with them heightens the emotions Shaw gives off.

Hmm, this makes sense and is something I hadn’t considered.

Being “pro-eyebrows” myself 😛 I also had never even thought of this aspect since when talking about it you generally have a static image in your mind as posted above. It always pays to remind yourself in such discussions that you’re talking about a motion picture which some elements present or missing can have a large impact due to their effect in a dynamic story telling medium.

Hey, Michael Berryman can’t help the way he looks.
