It’s Benecio del Toro, why wouldn’t you like him? Other than the bad stutter, I guess.
.
I liked the stutter, actually. 😓
You’re not alone snooker. DJ’s my favourite character as well. He’s a true neutral character who only stands for himself, I’m pretty sure Kreia would admire him. Fuck the Bendu, who claims to be “in the middle” but only helps the good guys.

I don’t mind it, but I’ve heard the complaint a lot that it’s not what a real stuttering person sounds like. I haven’t met anyone with an actual stutter since middle school and don’t remember well what he talked like, so I don’t have much of an opinion really.
.
I didn’t even follow why it made sense to include it.
I liked the character but that bit bugged me the same way Grievous’ cough bugged me.
[Someone on another forum said:]
In 1970, BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES was rated G, despite a bloody shootout and mass deaths. Ahhh, the good ol’ >days.
When STAR WARS was released, the MPAA was ready to rate it G, but producer Gary Kurtz lobbied for a PG, because he didn’t want adolescents and teens to reject the film out of hand for being an uncool “G.”
Is there a source for this? First time I’ve heard of it.
Where were you in '77?
There it is.
Also you can see them launch by watching Rogue One, but I won’t burden anyone with that task.
OH SNAP
I don’t recall seeing a TIE launch in R1, and I’ve watched it recently…

I also don’t recall R1 being a bad movie.

During the attack on Eadu iirc
And above Scariff.
I’ll have to go back and look at that part.

Which part do I need to back and look at?
So, the docking/take off mechanisms changed in the 30 years since RotJ.
Why is this a big deal?

Your favorite part. That way you’ll at least enjoy it.
JEDIT- Wait! Don’t do that. I don’t think we’re supposed to enjoy watching Star Wars anymore.

Pretty much what I’ve gotten out of this site for the past several years.
For what it’s worth, when Poe and Finn steal the TIE Fighter in TFA you can see the arms that were cradling it on either side of the cockpit retract as it lifts off.
That still doesn’t explain the scene on Starkiller base when Hux is giving the speech before they fire at the Republic. But they aren’t sitting on their solar panels in the Star Destroyer hangar.
Why does it need to be explained? I can park my car in my driveway. Or I can put it on a hydrolic lift in a mechanic’s garage. Or I can put in on a dolly and wheel it into the corner of a barn.
Do any of these contradict the other?
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

You get outta here with your logic.
Never mind that, where the heck does the X-wing ladder go when you’re not parked in a hangar? In the cut sandstorm footage from ROTJ, Luke basically chucks it on the ground before taking off.

It wouldn’t surprise me if there was already an in universe explanation for this, and I want to hear it. I could use a good laugh.

I know the Sequel Trilogy X-wings have a slot for what could conceivably be a telescoping ladder.
But as for the OT X-wings, who knows.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
