Anyway, I got burned out on all the comic book movies right around Iron Man 2 (or was it 3?) and I have a lot of catching up to do. Do I need to watch everything in order to understand Avengers or are there any movies I can safely skip?

I would recommend starting from Winter Soldier and continuing on from there. Just about everything after that ties into Infinity War and it’s a solid run (save for Ultron).

I’ve seen Winter Soldier. I think I need to review the complete list and figure out where I left off.

Did anybody of you watch Cloak and Dagger? If yes, is it a part of the MCU or something completely different?

If you didn’t see Doctor Strange I’d recommend that. As someone who hasn’t had an interest in the MCU, I actually enjoyed that movie. Though I have no idea if it’s required to understand his presence in the Avengers.

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

As someone who didn’t see Doctor Strange and saw Infinity War, his presence wasn’t confusing at all. I was kind of confused about things that probably happened in Black Panther and Thor 3.

Here’s a list I put together for all movies that involve Infinity Stones plus required for development as in my opinion it helps with understanding Infinity War the most:

Captain America: The First Avenger
The Avengers
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians Of The Galaxy
Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Captain America: Civil War
Doctor Strange
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2*
Thor: Ragnarok (Sets up A:IW)
Black Panther*
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man And The Wasp (Sets up Avengers 4)

*Only needed for character development

The Skywalker Saga:
I · II · III · IV · V · VI · VII · VIII · IX
This is the way.

Solid list though I’d say that Winter Soldier and Civil War are required viewing for understanding where the world is at currently. Plus they’re both among the best of the MCU.

IMO you can skip through a lot of the MCU movies- they are all subtly building a universe but only a few radical shift things up. So if you want to catch up quickly use this list, then go back and watch all the other great stories when you aren’t as rushed.

• Captain America 1 (optional but know about Bucky in WW2 if you’re gonna skip)
• Avengers
• Captain America 2
• Guardians of the Galaxy
• Age of Ultron
• Captain America 3
• Thor Ragnorak
• Infinity War

Ant Man and the Wasp doesn’t set up Avengers 4 until the post credit scene, which you could probably find on YouTube or Wikipedia. It’s a fun story but if you come looking for Avengers hints you’ll be disappointed.

GotG’s cast released a letter asking for gunn to be rehired.

I don’t blame them. The events in question occurred long before they had even met him.

Are they threatening to walk?

Seems like the only thing would work, and that’s doubtful anyway.

I doubt they could just walk. Disney would sue for breach of contract, and I don’t think any of them want that.

I recently saw someone point out that it wasn’t Marvel Studios that fired Gunn, nor was it Walt Disney Pictures, the parent company of Marvel Studios. It was the Walt Disney Company, which is the parent company of Walt Disney Pictures.

If it was either of the first two, I’d say Gunn had a shot at reinstatement, but it being the uppermost level of Disney’s corporate structure makes me thing it’s all but impossible.

I’d really love to hear Feige weigh in on the situation, but I’m being he’ll keep his mouth shut about it for a long time.

They might be contractually obligated to do the movie, but I doubt they have to do all the press junkets and other promotional crap either. Have actors ever sabotaged a movie by phoning it in?

Only thing I can think of that would be remotely similar would be Harrison Ford’s narration in the theatrical Blade Runner.

Maybe he was under the weather and took a lot of Nyquil right before the recording session? 😉

“Sushi. That’s what my ex-wife called me - Cold fish.”

The line delivery of this one in particular makes me irrationaly upset.

“More recent” applied to the early 2000s may be accurate but it’s certainly misleading.

I thought he voiced Baby Groot or something.

I know you’re joking but isn’t it documented that he actually did this? Just curious
