The Worst Scene/Sequence in Any Star Wars Film

I personally would say that the droid assembly line sequence in AOTC is the worst sequence ever to appear on screen in a Star Wars film. It’s long, bland, inconsequential, and ultimately completely forgettable. Do you agree? What would you say is the worst? The Ewok movies don’t count, the Clone Wars animated movie or TV shows don’t count, the Holiday Special doesn’t count, and Rebels doesn’t count. We’re only counting the live action films: episodes I-VIII and R1.

I’d also throw the whole colosseum sequence in as a runner-up. That one’s miserable to watch for me.

Parts of the prequels hardly qualify as a live action film though. 😉

No prequel scene stands out as worst for me because all of the scenes are unfortunate in some way. So I’d have to go with Han stepping on Jabba’s tail.

The whole scene? This is specifically about scenes or sequences.

It’s not as bad as some of the pointless action in the prequels or Rogue One, but I’d put the Endor shield generator stuff in a list of worst sequences in all of Star Wars. It’s definitely the most unwatchable part of the OT (OOT that is).

Any Jar Jar scene in The Phantom Menace. Yeah it’s cliche to say, but they are still so painful to watch. I didn’t even like them as a little kid, which is who they were obviously made for.

Not enough people read the EU.

I don’t think that magazine article in the 90’s that kickstarted the whole ROTJ sucks thing even mentioned that part.

Anything from the prequels is cheating, so I’m gonna have to go with the scene with Maz Kanata in TLJ.

The only prequel I’ve watched recently enough to say is TPM, and none of it is particularly painful for me, just boring. I think I’ve said before that it’s the cinematic equivilant of buying a bag of chips, only for it to be mostly air with only a few chips in the bottom.

So I guess I have to go with everything in AOTC as the worst.

C-3PO spouting hacky zingers in the droid factory and subsequent battle in AOTC. Nothing else even comes close.

The elevator scene in Attack of the Clones is pretty bad. It has by far the laziest writing in the saga. During re-shoots George probably realized that Obi-Wan and Anakin hated each-other, so he thought that that one scene should even it out.

JEDIT: It’s not the worst, though. I think the worst part of the prequels is when the pack animal farts in Jar-Jar’s face.

Oh man I had actually forgotten this part. But yeah TLJ ruined everything

This thread is a perfect example of how people who put the prequels over any Disney SW film are either trolling or delusional.

Well, I should’ve been more specific and just called it the Ewok battle. I actually like when they first sneak up on it and go inside but once the Ewoks show up and it’s just pointless action with teddy bears I’d call it the worst.

I think they might be better than Rogue One.

You’d really say that the scene where Liam Neesin eats lunch with the Skywalkers is the worst scene in all of Star Wars?

I’d say him grabbing Jar Jar’s tongue is among the better Jar Jar moments (low bar, I know). At least someone shut him up for a brief moment.

Looks like two people are with me on that scene.
