Speaking of Dune again, does anybody here know where I could find the Third Stage fanedit? The faneditinfo links are down (it’s all Frinks doing! 😉) and nobody responded in that thread.
I might somewhere, but it’s more likely that I have the Alternative Edition Redux. I’ll try to remember to check when I get home from work tonight, but you might wanna shoot me a PM to remind me.
Cool, thanks. I actually grabbed the Alternative Redux but decided not to watch it because I’m such a purist with a stick up my bum. Enemy PMs coming your way.

SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

Spoilers
Early in the film they mention that she used to make children’s books and it shows how her son is slowly chipping away at her sanity.
But do they do anything with that? No. It’s a real creature and she traps it in her basement like a weird pet. LAME.
Hahahahaha.

People with opinions that are different from my opinions are wrong, but unfortunately I’ve never seen a David Lynch film so I can’t say if Frink is wrong here or not.
The Person in Question
I’m more disturbed by Batman Forever getting a 5/10. Granted, that is a solid F, but I don’t understand why anyone finds much redeeming quality in it.
I don’t think stars and letter grades should be considered equivalent. There’s nothing lower than F, so I don’t think it makes sense to give a 1/10 and a 5/10 the same weight.
This is why I stopped using number grades, because I can’t really get over 7/10 = 70% = C-.
Yeah but the ball system relies on numbers so you better get over it.

Because it’s much better than than Batman and Robin? 😛
Fun fact:When George Clooney met Adam West, he apologized for B&R.
Where were you in '77?
I was going to bring that up, actually. I’m not sure how uncommon this opinion is, but I think Batman Forever is only marginally better than Batman and Robin. Even though I’m opposed to film ratings, if I had to rate them I’d give Batman and Robin 1/10 and Batman Forever a 2/10. It’s been nearly Forever since I’ve seen either of them, but I remember having that feeling.

I see what you did there.

That’s basically what I meant anyway.

Me too, and now I’m angry at you for posting about it because I really wanted to
I, Dragon (2017)
or
He’s a Dragon (2015)
or
He is the Dragon (2015)
I am but a simple man, and watched this on Amazon because it had the word ‘dragon’ in the title.
Basically a Russian retelling of Beauty and the Beast except with a dragon. The subtitled version that I saw was actually quite good. The art direction and effects are impressive as well.

So…was the dragon the beauty?
I Vitelloni - One of Fellini’s first directorial efforts, and it’s pretty good. Five guys in a nowhere town fail to find meaning in their drifting lives. There’s not much plot, but the characters are strong enough to get you through it.
The movie actually reminds me of a famous line from The Grand Hotel, “People come, people go. (but) Nothing ever happens.”

Ready Player One (2018) - If it’s Spielberg, I’m there. Been excited about this for awhile, at least until recently when it became clear that this would be some sort of reference fest. Fortunately, the references are mostly background stuff, but occasionally they are legitimately distracting, and with little purpose to the narrative. Still, an incredibly fun trip with some really cool set pieces. If it didn’t fumble its final message, I would have really loved it. Alas. B
Just saw this, and I agree with you. Ending was not well done for sure. But managed to be fun most of the entire runtime.

The final set piece was a blast though.

I’m going to say yes.

Oceans Eleven (2001)
Overrated. It’s fun and has a star-studded cast, ultimately offering exactly what the original offers, minus the funny twist at the end.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.
