^ That’s a great idea!

After hearing Tarantino talk Star Trek, I’m all for him writing and directing a movie. He’s a big TOS fan and seems to like and dislike the same things about Trek that I do.

I just know we’re going to see topless Orion slave girls. 😛

Haha! I really doubt he’ll go R. I think it would be much closer to TOS. So much so that it’ll put many off.

I don’t know about that. Didn’t he say he wouldn’t do it if he couldn’t get an R rating?

Here

Tarantino has required it to be R rated, and Paramount and Abrams agreed to that condition.

The only way to make Spock Meyers more disturbing is add the Spock’s Brain headset and have someone remote controlling his empty husk to kill. 😉

We so need “like” buttons around here.

Someone once suggested I use this avatar nearly three years ago.

I was massively confused by that helmet’s existence as a kid. It’s bizarre how iconic that thing has become. Hardware Wars made good use of it. And it’s lived on in other forms.

I sometimes think it could be my long pined for Moderator hat. 😉

Nobody seems to remember this one.

How this didn’t end up being painted and used on the show is beyond me!

You have to give this person points for most obscure Trek character cosplay. 😃

Here’s an article about a new episode of TNG written using a specially programmed predictive text. There’s a link in there to the entire thing too.

Fascinating and hilarious!

This is awesome! Hilarious! My favorite bit is
The holodeck becomes intensely Hawaiian. Security bears enter. They look good.

JEDIT- reading the whole episode now. It’s SO good!
Geordie- Computer, locate a big thing of chips.

Just wondering, is nobody else reading this, or does nobody else think it’s funny?

I read it and enjoyed it a lot. I wish it were made into a real episode (or audio episode at least) with the real cast. I’m sure some of them would be on board if it was seriously offered to them.

I thought it was hilarious, but didn’t say anything.

Apologies if this has been covered somewhere in the 170+ pages I don’t feel like combing through, but can anyone offer any guidance about where to start with Trek novels? I’d like to check out some of the TOS stuff, but there’s so damn much of it. A local thrift store that I go to always has a bunch of the Pocket Books novels from the 70s-80s, are there any of those I should keep an eye out for?

The TOS era novels are an area I’ve been meaning to get into. I’ve not read them but I’ve heard very good things about the following:

SPOCK MUST DIE! by James Blush
Enterprise: The First Adventure by Vonda N. McIntyre
The Final Reflection by John M. Ford

I’m pretty fond of the Alan Dean Foster adaptations of the animated TOS. I ate those up as a kid. He expanded beautifully on what were 22 minute teleplays into full novels. There have been many cover variations over the years.
