Warbler’s State of the Union Address:
My fellow forum members and Americans and anyone else reading this: The state of union is as low as I can recall in my lifetime. We have an incompetent President who drive us nuts with his abuse of Twitter. He has made multiple racist statements and leaves little doubt that he is a racist. He has also embolden racists groups and especially white supremacist groups. He is recorded talking with pride about grabbing women by the p_____. Many have questioned his sanity. Multiple insiders have liken his white house to a day care center. He plays brinkmanship games with the guy from N. Korea he calls rocketman. If he is not stopped, we may well find ourselves in a nuclear war with N. Korea inwhich countless innocent people will die. This President is a disgrace to our nation. This is a President the majority of Americans did not want. He was elected due to an electoral college system in dire need of fixing. He was also elected due many of his party putting the party before the country. For years that has been true of both parties and it needs to stop. Both parties in many cases have not cared about the quality of candidates in political races be it for President, US Senator, US Rep, Gov, state legislature, major, etc. All they have cared about is beating the other party. He have parties in control of states deliberately drawing district lines to ensure the reelection of its own members and to ensure it continues to control said state via gerrymandering. This must stop. Along this line, we also have the increasing desire of some states and a certain politicians to require ID to voting. It sounds good. It seems to make sense the people show evidence that they are who they say they are before voting. I am not against the idea. But it needs to be done fairly. We need to make the poor, minorities, the elderly and the disabled have access to this IDs. Traveling to and from place to place to obtain an ID and cut through red tape and whatnot is very difficult on the elderly and the disabled and even the poor who made not be able to afford transportation. The poor maybe not be able to afford the money it takes obtain the ID. Even if the ID itself is free, it might take money to obtain the needed paperwork to obtain the ID. We also must make sure minorities are discriminated against in the process of obtain ID. There are also all sorts strange and unique cases that make obtaining an ID difficult. We need to fix this stuff before requiring an ID. Maybe at some point in the future an ID can be required. But right now, there is too much danger it could be used to bring back Jim Crow. That can not happen. Racial tensions seem to be at an all time high. I don’t understand it all. There are very difficult issues afoot. These issues can not be solves by yelling at each other. They won’t be solved by disrespecting the flag and anthem. They can be solves if we become reasonable and talk with each other and most importantly listen to each other. Some complaints minorities have are legit while others aren’t. We to come together and talk and listen to each other to figure out which is which. Sometimes cops have abused the rights of black people, other times it may only look that way on the surface. The one thing we can not do is presume people guilty of a racial crime until proven innocent. That is not American way. Black lives Matter. Cop lives Matter. The facts matter. It also seems we are still dealing with gender issues. There is evidence that women are not being paid the same as men. That must change But the evidence needs be fairly looked at so we understand what the problem is and what it is not. You can’t compare the wages of a male server of a five star restaurant with that a female server of an average diner and conclude women are not being paid as much as men. There is also the issue of sexual assault/harassment. It is worse than I thought it. Just look at this “me too” movement. More and more celebrities and politicians are being taken down with complaints of sexual assault and harassment. This is good sexual assault and harassment and rape are unacceptable. We must strive to punish the guilty. But we much also be careful not to assume someone guilty until proven innocent. There are complex issues involving homosexuals and transgenders and others like them. I don’t understand the issues, it is many cases beyond me. But again we must treat them and each other with respect and talk reasonably and listen to each other on this issues. There is healthcare, There is the national debt. There is abortion. Seems to me more and more we are dividing ourselves into camps and not listening to the side and only listening to the media that supports our side. We refuse to consider that maybe the other side has a good idea or two maybe just maybe made a good point in a discussion. I see politicians debate issues on the air. Instead really discussing the issue it is all about winning the argument, making the other side look bad. We can’t solve our problems this way. WE HAVE TO REALLY LISTEN AND REALLY DISCUSS THINGS WITH EACH OTHER! and be willing to compromise where appropriate. We have so many issues. The economy. Our problems with N. Korea, Russia and China. We still live under the threat of terrorist attacks and nutcases with gun that pick a group of innocent people and mow them down. Maybe banning the guns isn’t the answer but neither is defending the rights of nutcases to have guns. A middle ground must be found. We also have issues of the environment. Some would say the greenhouse effect is just a mith. But too many scientists agree with the theory to just ignore. Also I know it has gotten warmer over the years in my area. I can remember on Christmas Day of 2016 we actually had the air conditioner on for part of the day. That is just wrong. That should not happen in NJ. Something is happening and I don’t want Philadelphia to be beachfront property. We need to come together on this. We need to research thins non biasedly and open mindedly. We need to understand what is occurring want isn’t and fix what we can before it is too late and I fear it may well be too late. We have so many dire and desperate problems that need fixed and I don’t know the solutions. We to stop politics as usual and come together. But I fear that won’t happen. But despite it all I still believe in America, in the idea of America. So I pray for my country. God help and Bless The United States Of America.
Thankyou and goodnight.
