Would love to do a project on Indiana Jones:

Does anyone have any old documentaries/interviews/deleted scene footage?

Anything that hasnt been released on the dvds?

I would really make a DVD out of this if people would help me by uploading their movies and such.

Here's an idea why don't you get some of the Indy 4 news and previews all put on the dvd such as news articles interviews with Spielberg and Lucas.

I'd love to do that, but first I was wondering if anyone has any old documentaries of Indiana Jones like people do of Star Wars

Thanks!

Yes, first for this do be successful we need to compile all the available documentaries of Indiana Jones and to upload them to myspleen or whatever p2p network.

Then from there I will make DVD Menu's and such and release it.

But first things first we need the docs

I have the two older docs ("Great Movie Stunts" and "The Making Of") on an original VHS. Have these ever made it to laserdisc?

Yes, the Raiders and Last Crusade docs were released on LD. Temple of Doom's was not.

Neil

Well at least the reversed surround channels have been addressed.

Author

SKot, is there any possible way you can distribute those?

I have the following (some of which i have transferred to DVD):

The Making Of Raiders Of The Lost Ark (Japanese Laserdisc transfer)
Great Movie Stunts: Raiders Of The Lost Ark (PAL VHS internal DVD transfer)
The Making Of Temple Of Doom (Betamax OTA transfer)
The Making Of Last Crusade: Adventurers And Their Quests (Japanese Laserdisc transfer)

I am thinking of releasing them when I have time to work on some extras and menus.

bh002: Horizon How To Film The Impossible features some exclusive making of Temple Of Doom footage too.

I think a good Dual Layer or double disc compilation would be a great idea for someone to do and i would gladly donate my documentary transfers.

No Young Indy stuff but I do have the Memorex Temple Of Doom commercial and the Temple Of Doom teaser trailer from the first VHS/BETA of Raiders, and possibly some other stuff. I'll have a look.

That sounds awesome. Hope you have any other trailers/teasers/TV spots.

I'd love to see these Indy documentaries. Of all the vintage documentaries and specials that are being put out as torrents, these are at the top of my wishlist. I hope someone can make them available soon!

I'd be happy to transfer my VHS Indy docs for the cause, but in all honesty babyhum's are sure to be better. Especially if he's got one from laserdisc.

I have a DVD of Rowman's transfer.

Great Stunts works fine, but sadly the Making of Raiders on my copy is corrupted.

He said he transferred it from VHS though, so you'd definitely get a better copy from LD.

TheSessler and SKot, do you have any other Indiana Jones material?

Like TV Spots/commericals/trailers etc?

This would be an awesome DVD when its finally finished

The only thing with the Japanese laserdisc transfers, as with my Japanese Star Wars Documentary transfers that Dr.Gonzo used for his set is that they have burnt in Japanese subtitles. This doesn't bother me as the image quality is excellent. I also want to try and make the VHS and Beta transfers NTSC progressive (from PAL) as they were originally shot 24fps.

Indy 3, just a thought, if people have stuff to contribute to this i think it would be best if they sent it to you more directly, and then you compliled it. If you up it to myspleen or some other site then everyone will get the 'first version' and the 'all in one' dvd version will be somewhat redundant. And i think most people would prefer the final product, so why make all the individual parts available to everyone. I say just make the final product available.

But, i would def be interested in seeing this. And as baby hum said, his bh002 release has some pretty interesting stuff on Temple of Doom

I understand what you mean by that, then whats a good way for one person to privatly send a file to me thats over a gig or so?

probably on a disc (dvd) snail mail. Pretty sure some of the tapes used in other projects here transfered hands this way. But if you want more anonymity then probably setting up a private FTP site (on either side, though if your getting from multiple sources prob easiest for you to just set up one site) would be the best route.

Sounds good, I like the FTP idea better. What does the possible contributors say about this?

Hopefully I'm not chiming in too late here, but I have a DVD transfer of the 'Making Of/Great Stunts' specials which I made in film school, complete with menus and other goodies (BTS photos and production art) which I transferred from the American LD.

I contacted someone from here a few days ago about perhaps uploading this to a certain underground torrent site, but haven't heard back. This is pretty uncanny timing that this has come up now.

I'm sure someone could get ahold of my DVD and make a better job of it than me, but it's up for donation provided I get it back at some point - it's my only copy and I don't have the means right now to duplicate it.

Anway, if someone wants it for this project, let me know.

EDIT - I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that if some trustworthy individual wants to do all of the work, I could be persuaded to lend out the laserdisc - maybe even 'Raiders' too if anyone wants the original sound mix and the reflection in the glass between Indy and the Cobra.
