Is this smart?
Space is real dark and the floor on the Death Star is black.

I would recommend to paint the stripe red, and leave the shuttle white.
And I’d like a black imperial logo on the white. Not on the top of the wings though, cause that makes no sense.
Honestly Im not sure why would a logo be needed, if this shuttle type is for high ranking imperial officials only. Or at least I assume that is the reason Adywan wants to change Tydirium. You see the shuttle, you know whats coming, no need to see logos.
Still, I just like the imperial logo, anyway. Just sacrifice logic for art.

When Luke is hiding from Vader under the throne dais, the consoles he’s using to conceal himself don’t even reach to the ground. When he screams “No!” he’s right out in the open like Vader couldn’t see him. there needs to be more of a maze of consoles and equipment underneath the throne.

Ooh, nice find. I’d like that over the standard white, but maybe if it had some royal red trim?

Although, I think my first vote would go to a shuttle different from the Lambda-class altogether, like what Palpatine had in ROTS, only with some subtle design/color changes. I know, people often don’t want anything from the PT to be injected in the OT (it’s something George would do, etc.) 😉 but with an open-mind, I thought his ROTS shuttle was one of those things that were actually just fine, and it makes sense the Emperor would have something that’s more unique in design and his own.

And if the Emperor did have something different, what if Vader then had that black Lambda shuttle up above? Something that is clearly marked differently from the other commanders’ shuttles? Or is that taking it too far?

In retrospect, I would’ve really liked it for Krennic to have had a standard white lambda shuttle and Vader to have Krennic’s shuttle 😃

My suggestion: make the Emperor’s shuttle unique, paint it red, or black, with the Imperial logo on the side or something.

Why would the Emperor paint a target on himself? Palatine is not as vain and ego-centric as Krennic or others are. He hid himself in plain sight and donned the black plain robes once he had secured the Galaxy for himself.

But - if Ady like the idea of making something new and special for Emp - I’m not opposed, but do not see the necessity for it.

I find your lack of faith…disturbing

What the f*ck? Why?

Because the grey stripe it has doesn’t differentiate it enough from the 3 other identical shuttles also in the film? It’s not a bad suggestion.

That is so illogical. So what you suggest, is that the Emperor - leader of the Empire; the biggest threat for the Rebel Alliance and all other of millions who hate and plot behind his fierce back, travel around in a ship that signifies “I am no ordinary passenger”? That’s like Luke traveling in a completely blue X-Wing, written Skywalker on the sides, and expecting not to be followed or shot down or captured.

JEDIT: I see your lust for spicing up the designs, but doing it on the Emperor’s Shuttle just diminishes his logic and therefore his character. Vader, for instance, didn’t follow Luke in a red Tie-Fighter at the end of ANH and blended in with the others, keeping himself at an advantage for doing so rather than an increased target.

No, he followed Luke in a unique-shaped TIE Fighter that did nothing to blend in with the others.

The Empire is all about displaying it’s power and symbolism. A fancy ride for a short hop from a Star destroyer to the DS escorted by a whole lot of TIE’s isn’t that far fetched. The Emperor does not sneak around. They could employ the tactic of identical shuttles traveling in a group so nobody knows which one the Emperor is actually on.

All in all, after reading everyone’s comments about shuttles … I am good either decision Addy makes. When you looks all the different ships the empire has … they don’t really distinquish themselves different from similar models. All TIE’s look the same. All Star Destoryers look the same. Etc.

Ady changing Tyderium is completely justifiable … the same kind of model ship the emperor and Vader uses for a supply shuttle? Doesn’t make sense. By changing that, it fixes that problem and keeps Vader and Emperor’s shuttles as personal shuttles for the top brass.

I don’t mind whether the shuttles are changed or not. In ESB and ROTJ it seems a shuttle is a shuttle whether it’s transporting VIPs or cargo, but also like the idea of Palpatine wanting to show off a bit. If you do change it, for the love of all that is good please don’t make it black because, as pointed out by Jani-Wan, we need to actually see it.

They told me they’d fixed it!

We only see it in the shuttle bay. I’m not saying it needs to be changed, I’m just saying we shouldn’t dismiss those who have suggestions that are actually feasible and don’t involve Boba Fett.

Amongst all the chat about trooper camo and Emperor ship colour schemes, the above is actually not a bad idea. I too remember initially thinking it a bit odd that Luke just ends up being in the open in the shadow of some stairs though it was more of a niggle than an annoyance and after repeat viewings I stopped thinking about it.

Well it’s not like he would travel alone without a Superstardestroyer and some “small” stardestroyers.
Good luck getting near that shuttle.
Im sure if he doesn’t want attention and goes alone, he won’t use that.

I far as I know, there is no one more ego-centric in the whole star wars universe than the Sith.

Totally agree, that he should not be seen that easily. But I was always thinking that he is using some kind of Jedi invisibility trick, or whatever, so Vader can’t see him. (I convince myself with BS too. From time to time.)

As far as the shuttle, I assume Adywan is just going to change the shuttle the rebels have. Make that one more like the shuttle in Rogue One-that would be less shots to alter. Vader and the Emperor’s shuttles would remain the same.

That’s one of the things that I’d like Ady to consider changing, what many people have referred to as the “Flanderization” of C-3PO. While Threepio is certainly a worrywart, that personality trait has become a caricature in ROTJ. In ANH, Threepio successfully bluffed past Stormtroopers on the Death Star and was decisive in choosing when to leave hiding and try to board the Falcon. In ROTJ the caricature version of Threepio has been left out of the plan and (because of his ignorance) could easily work against it at any moment.

I would like to see any edits made that could instead have him included in the plan.

3PO is more than a worrywart. You’re ignoring Empire, where he says “I really don’t see how that is going to help. Surrender is a perfectly acceptable alternative in extreme circumstances. The Empire may be gracious and…”[Leia shuts him off]. He also dismissed R2’s mission in ANH in favor of hanging out with Luke and trusting Luke with any potentially classified information simply because “he’s our new master.” 3PO can not be trusted with sensitive information because he surrenders too easily when under pressure.

Meanwhile, R2 knows when to keep his mouth shut, so to speak.

With regard to the Camo Troopers—George said that he wanted the good guys to have earth colors while the bad guys were colorless. The troopers and Vader having stark white and black armor respectively was an intentional design choice.

While I agree the Empire should use minimal color, it just doesn’t make sense to wear white. Besides, it’s already been implemented in some weird way with the shoretroopers.
