Oh, related, I was banned from the game’s forum. Apparently I violated the site’s TOS by questioning a moderator’s actions. I’ll grant I was a bit ruder than I should have been, but they simply banned me on my first offense. No warning at all. They also deleted all my posts throughout the forum, other than the first post in the thread that got me banned. You can see some of my posts in the forum where people quoted them, so it looks like they just mass removed my posts.

^No forum etiquette at all! It’s a good thing you will never be a forum moderator!

Please refer to the event calendar for scheduled events.
As always the dates are subject to change.

This was the moderator response that set me off. It was a canned response that he/she used in twelve other threads. The difference is that those threads were all asking WHERE DID THE EVENT GO??? whereas I was asking that they stop jerking the events in and out of the game calendar, causing people to make twelve threads a day asking WHERE DID THE EVENT GO???

Oh, and I spend a few hours off-and-on with EA support Saturday morning trying to figure out why I couldn’t log in, because not only was I not notified of my ban, apparently when you’re banned the “login” link doesn’t tell you that either, it just sends you back to the main forum page.

I still have no clue how long the ban is supposed to last or if it’s permanent. I asked a guild-mate to send a PM to a moderator to inquire and he’s been ignored, and I have no way to communicate with the staff since I’m banned.

“Not…yet!”

I have to drop another ally to make room for you.

Added! Let me know which character of mine you’re able to use in battle (I assume it will be Wedge or Biggs but not exactly sure how that works). At any rate, given that you’ve just started, I’m assuming a Level 80 7* G8 or G9 character can auto anything you’re facing on it’s own.

Yeah, it offered me Wedge and it took all of 3 seconds to do all three rounds. I’m not sure how often I can use him, but I’m going to save him for harder things.

I think it’s once a day, so yeah save him if you can.

Wedge is my arena lead right now, plus Biggs/Leia/R2/Boba. Wedge+Biggs (known as Wiggs, apparently) is a fantastic combo.

From the crappy forum that banned me.

The choice that you get depends on the last leader that person used in that area of the game, and it can’t be anybody that was on your last team. So if, say, you are running rebels on light side, and most of your allies are running the same rebels on light side, those people won’t show up for you to select as an ally because the character they offer as a leader is one that you had in your team and can’t bring. If you run a node with a random team (say jawas) then you will get more options from your allies list the next time you go to do a node. But if you pick somebody’s Wedge you then won’t be able to use your own Wedge.

Not sure if it’s entirely correct but it sounds roughly right.

Well apparently the forum is crappier than previously thought.

There needs to be a General Star Wars video games thread in the generally Star Wars side of this forum.

Yes, get this Galaxy of Heroes nonsense out of here.

Also, what is this Galaxy of Heroes nonsense?

It’s so easy and fun, even an allegedly-almost-45-year-old can play it.

Change “smartphone gaming peasants” to “smartphone gaming parents.” I ain’t got time to sit in front of a TV all day.

JEDIT: It says “handheld console.” Whatever, I’m old and my eyesight sucks.

Sonic Mania is fine. After all the hype died down and I got to play the game (two weeks late because of some apparently unnecessary PC implimentations), it felt rather mediocre by the time I finished playing. The original content is fun (I’m very fond of the special stage), though some of that even is annoying to me. Then of course is the fact that 70% of the game is “remixed” classic levels, which ultimately is the only thing that really keeps this game from being able to sit alongside the originals. It isn’t a game of its own, and that makes it difficult to return to rather than just play Sonic 2 again.

Overall, I don’t like a lot of the stylistic descisions that were made, I don’t like the Hardboiled Heavies, and I don’t like that various things in it don’t feel like things that would be in a real Sonic sequel circa-1995.

On the other hand, I think this is a very well made game, made with lots of love from the developing teams involved, Tee Lopes’ music is great (I was a fan of him before he was announced for Mania), and I’m fond of the general Sonic CD-ish feel that was heavily prevelent.

No doubt Sega will commission the creation of more “classic” Sonic games in the future to make more money, and I’m hoping Christian Whitehead and co. will be able to bring out something that I can appreciate more sometime.
