Sounds like 10 more minutes than Friday the 13th…
I’ve never seen it.
Just watch the ending and you’re good.
I’ve hated all of Rob Zombies films (Though I think House of 1000 Corpses could be edited into a pretty good throwback. Sid Haig, Bill Mosely, Dwight Schrute and Chris Hardwick all give fantastic performances).
Oddly enough, White Zombie is one of my top favorite bands and I’ve enjoyed a few songs from all of his solo albums except Educated Horses. That one sounds like his films.
His music is always so fun. His films are always so not.
His films never have a single likable character in them. They’re always inbred rednecks who love murder, rape, and incest, or really loud and obnoxious, amoral piles of garbage.

But tell us how you really feel.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
How do you not like Rob Zombie’s movies?
I always thought this was one of the best scenes from The Lords of Salem

Believe it or not, I kind of like his Halloween films. No, I’m not kidding.

How is this a serious question?
But tell us how you really feel.

So did I. It was the only remake of a horror film I actually liked.

You didn’t like the remakes of The Thing or The Fly?
You suck at things.
You suck at things.
That seems unfairly broad.

Or The Blob, for that matter.

The Thing (2011) was not a remake, it was a prequel and yes I did like it. And I will always love David Cronenburgs’s The Fly.
During the 2000’s era and on you had nothing but remakes that always ruined the original and unnecessary sequel’s (Final Destination, Wrong Turn) when it came to horror film’s and Rob Zombie’s Halloween film’s were the only one’s I actually liked from that era because it didn’t try to surpass the original.
Or The Blob, for that matter.
How could you not love the special effects from that movie!?

“John Carpenter’s The Thing” is a remake of “The Thing From Another World”.

My mistake, I’ve never seen The Thing From Another World but John Carpenter’s The Thing is a special effects achievement.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
It was ok.

Yes, but arguably Carpenter’s version is much more faithful to the source material.

Where were you in '77?
The special effects in Carpenter’s version are like a middle finger to CGI.
Rob Bottin is one of the few movie monster makeup gods. Pity he’s all but dropped out of sight.

Ghostbusters 2: Yikes! 😦
The Person in Question
Binge watching TCM lately.
Key Largo – This takes some time to build up, but it’s another fantastic Bogey and Bacall flick, and John Huston’s knack for examining the human spirit in a very pessimistic way works well here. Edward G. Robinson was absolutely horrendous in the best way possible. This appears to have been a major influence for The Hateful Eight.
Night of the Hunter – Speaking of being absolutely horrendous, Robert Mitchum here was terrifying. Can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said. Stylistically gorgeous, great tension, perfect characters. Best of the bunch tonight.
Brigadoon – Nice way to end the day. None of the numbers were all that special except “Almost Like Being in Love”. Can’t help but enjoy a nice colorful MGM musical anyway.
Night of the Hunter is so good!
