We have no idea how long it took the DS to reach Yavin.
There was obviously some time that passed as the Rebels had to study the DS plans to find the flaw. Also, Luke was fitted with a flight suit, helmet and assigned to a group and given a call sign. And I’d like to think he had some time in an x-wing cockpit to see how the controls worked (how to access the targeting computer, locking/unlocking the s-foils, switching from lasers to missiles, ect.) before taking off. So, we know that some time has passed since they arrived. In my head, it was 2 or 3 days. And the DS moves slow.

Yeah. Some time absolutely.
But I dont see why he isnt allowed to sit in his Tatooine clothes?

I’ll be back…

New to this thread and pretty new to Adywan’s edits in general (generally not a fan of fan edits which aren’t fan restorations, until Adywan changed my mind).

Will PT:R be one movie which is a combination of the entire Prequel Trilogy or three separate movies?

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

I believe that Ady had mentioned it being 3 separate films at some point.

Okay.
Because I heard sone rumors that it was going to be one compilation film.
Maybe I just misunderstood sonething or maybe my mind making false memories for me.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

Hello!
First time poster. I’ve lurked around on and off for a little while but just now felt compelled to post something. I’ve followed Adywan’s Wordpress and have read through a lot of the more recent posts in the ESB:Revisted thread but have not read through all 1300+ pages so please forgive any ignorance on my part.

From reading Adywan’s blog I have an idea of his views on the PT in relation to the OT but I am not sure where he stands on Rogue One or if it fits within his Saga. That being said, I saw on his blog one of the planned changes for ROTJ is swapping out the T-4a Lambda class shuttle Tydyrium with another class of shuttle. I’d assumed up until Rogue One that the Sentinel Class landing craft would probably be the most logical replacement, but now that Rogue One is a thing, I really like the idea of using the Zeta Class Cargo Shuttle from the film. It would help alleviate the annoyance of the the introduction of a new class of vehical never seen again and also meet one of the goals of the edit.

I can definitely second and get behind that idea given that they have indeed already been introduced as a cargo and a troop transport and Han does tell Piett on the Executor that they are carrying “parts and technical crew for the Forest Moon”.

I find your lack of faith…disturbing

I would personally prefer the Sentinel class from Rebels, only because we haven’t seen it in the films before, and it is more clearly a transport while still looking similar enough to the original Tydirium to not feel entirely alien. The zeta class would be too radical a change IMO, and it’s role is so similar to Rogue One that it would feel like a repeat.

I was honestly a bit annoyed that they decided to introduce the Zeta Class and the Delta Class in Rogue One since they’re never seen again, but my suggestion seemed like the best way to make the shuttle’s disappearance from the Saga less jarring. Rogue One would have worked just as well if they had used the Sentinel in the same role as the Zeta. But anyway, it hadn’t really occurred to me, you’re right, they would basically be fulfilling the exact same role in both films if the Zeta was used in lieu of the Lambda. I dunno if that is necessarily a bad thing per-say…

I never thought about replacing the Lambda with the cargo ship from R1. Thinking about it, the problems would be the full size sets. We see Han going up the ramp and the cockpit which would take impossible amounts of work to make match R1. Since we never see the interior of the Sentinel and it looks like a stretched out Lambda, with a couple of wide shot model replacements it would fit right in.

As for ship classes being seen in R1 and never seen again, I would argue that each one of those is a specific class that wouldn’t be needed in any other movie. Save for a cargo shuttle of course, but it seems like RotJ was just saving money by using the same model/set for Vader’s shuttle, the Emperor’s shuttle, and the cargo shuttle. I wonder if the Sentinel was introduced in ANH SE for an eventual replacement of Tydirium in a future SE but the idea was abandoned. Who knows?

Very good point, I never thought about exterior shots with the actors. I was only thinking about space shots which would have been a model swap. I guess the Sentinel is the only other ship that makes sense without needing to do some more complicated work.

If I recall, I think Adywan is planning to make them red throughout.

With speculation that Hayden Christiansen may return in The Last Jedi to reprise Force Ghost Anakin, will he remain at the end of ROTJR?! I know Adywan intends on reinserting Sebastian Shaw and all, but at the end of the day, he’s still not regarding the Sequel Trilogy is he? Maybe recreate a more decent looking Force Ghost version of Hayden compared to what we got recently possibly…

Keep Shaw in the OT and edit him into the ST if needed and possible or just cut out Hayden if that’s the case. The less Hayden in SW the better! I kid you not, I hated his performance far more than Jake Loyd’s as Anakin. And there was nothing wrong with leaving Shaw in in the first place since Anakin / Darth Vader is old when he dies anyway! Freaking GL meddling with things that ain’t broke!

Well, I had this suggestion in my mind for years now, but for some reason I never made it.

It is about original trilogy… As we all know, it badly lacks female characters, any possible female characters with some lines were cut and some of the others were shortened and dubbed over by male actors. (female pilot in episode six for example) So why not remedy this? Add some female characters with lines to the OT and make it a bit more diverse. In the end why wasn’t female characters included in the film? They said it was because their acting wasn’t very good, but is acting of the all male actors great in the final movie? I am not actually suggesting new characters should be added out of nowhere, that would disrupt the flow of the movie, what I am suggesting is, some bad, out of place actors with lines should be replaced.

For example, A New Hope:

This is a character called (to add insult to the injury) Porkins. As far as I remember, he is never been referred by that name in the movie, but yeah… He is better known by his code name Red Six. His acting is quite stale (though thankfully he doesn’t have many lines), he is really out of place (he really looks like he doesn’t belong there, look at him, he is so overweight he can’t even connect the straps of his helmet) and overall he is just terrible. (and he is quite forgettable save the fact he is remembered as the fat pilot by many)

So how about replacing him with her:

She was a cut character from episode six, sadly she doesn’t actually have any footage available (not in color anyway) but it could be made to work. (just get a cosplayer with the correct costume to do a few shots and replace it with Red Six.)

I mean, I know it is unlikely Adywan to do something like this for ANHR-HD but in my opinion, it would work beautifully. (getting rid of a bad character while gaining much needed female character with lines? Hell yeah.)

There could be several more examples where something like this could work. I can’t think of any, but surely OT would have benefited from it.

I laugh in the face of danger. Then I hide until it goes away..

I absolutely wouldn’t want to see Porkins go either but I like where sansuni is coming from. I’d prefer it be limited to adding new female pilots/soldiers in extended sequences (in ROTJ:R maybe?) rather than outright replacing existing actors.

Also, he is called Porkins by name in the movie: “cover me Porkins!”

We’ll have to see.

I mean, he’s not replacing Porkins, but maybe while they’re doing new shots for ROTJR they can do some inserts for the extended TIE reveal.

His stale acting won him a part in Raiders of the Lost Ark. He was one of the two actors that came to Dr. Jones near the beginning of the film, after Dr. Jones gives his class to his students, he meets with them to talk about the Ark of the Covenant.

He kind of fits better in that setting though. It is more believable. (at least more so than him being a fighter pilot while he would barely be able to fit in the cockpit of the fighter he is supposed to be piloting.) And his acting isn’t as stale in Raiders of the Lost Ark because it is easier to deliver those lines.

Lastly, this is why I haven’t made this suggestion in the original thread in the first place. People are too overprotective of the original trilogy’s faults. Even I am one of those people.

Porkins is hilarious, gotta keep him in there.
