Idea & Info: Star Wars Deleted Scenes - Reincorporated? — Page 10

Here is another test scene with Darth Vader, there was a huge sequence with 4-5 frames of dirt covering 1/3 frame, and it seems to skip around the 26 second mark, along with some ghosting on the right hand side:

Again, we don't have a timetable, or release schedule for any of these clips, they are just tests.

This scene is worth a watch just for the cornucopia of droids glimpsed in the last few seconds. An R2 with a transparent dome, what appear to be mouse droids shackled together like train carriages, and a gonk droid that bravely blocks Darth Vader's way.

There are a lot of interesting things in the deleted scenes. But you have to watch all the way through, and pay attention to the lesser details, and not just the main characters.

I don't know where else to put this but I feel it is relevant.

Over at iCollector, there is an original ADR session for "Rat Face," "Han Solo," and "Luke Skywalker" for sale. It is $500 and it ends tomorrow, but seeing as how Rat Face is hardly seen much less heard, it would be interesting to hear what is on this tape.

Thanks team_negative1 for your hard work.

What I would love to see would be a seamless branching blu-ray(s) of Harmy's Despecialized/team_negative1 Gout with some creative liberties taken to add the missing score, extend the Flew with your father scene, and restore the original Jabba the Hutt Scene, even if it is not cannon. Watching a proper extended cut of the original Star Wars is a fanboys daydream.

My 2 cents

Thanks again

This is a very substantial find and should not go neglected!  This could be extremely useful for fan editors especially!

I'll ask the question - because google yields nothing - who or what is Rat Face?

There is no demand for an official release, because the Bluray was the official release. If you mean a cleaned up official release, we would argue, again, there is no demand for them, because what difference would it really make. They are deleted scenes.

Yes, we hope someday, someone will incorporate them back into the movie.

That being said, the tests continue. Here is part 3 of the Luke and Biggs scene, there is still more work to be done on these, as the right hand sides still has a lot of lines:

I am curious about yours or your teams stance on the matter and whilst I totally accept deleted scenes are just that not part of the film in most or many cases are cut for very good reasons and I would go as far to say in most cases should remain cut.

Can I ask which of or what ones that are available including trailer footage and including alternative footage do you consider actually being of serious worth to the OT films?

I can only personally think of very small amount of the footage that is available being of serious worth for making proper "Good" extended editions...and it probably does not even reach double figures for those real good shots So it's a very short extension to each film kind of. There is a lot with very little substance that would not really improve the film in any great way or difficult to incorporate.

But I guess if it's available and people can get creative with new material that is good but I am talking more about what is the best and most important footage for actually using as an enhancement to what is already there without altering (unless it is FX) that deleted footage and incorporating it back in. And I think that is what is in reality a small number of shots of real worth or even snippets.

Will these scenes be available individually once cleaned up, or only as part of a fan edit of the movies?

So is this dead? I would love to use the finished Luke and Treadwell scene for my edit of rogue one I am planning

What I really want restored is the scene of Luke and Biggs at the Tosche Station.

The fact that this never caught on as a project here has got to be one of the more disappointing things about this site in the last 5 or so years. The fact that we have so many people tripping over themselves to restore the same three films over and over again is what makes this site great, but couldn’t we divert even a little bit of that man power towards restoring the deleted scenes?

It’s a shame because it seemed like there was a solution

Here’s the changes to the script that I made.  I’m only posting the parameter variables as the rest of the script shouldn’t be messed with except to trim the clip to whatever frames you want to process. Obviously if you want a different resolution for the end product you’ll have to change it from 720x576 to whatever you want.

But then nothing came of it.

As with everything if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. So I’d love to be able to just do it myself and not have to worry about others, but the only solution I see is avisynth based and I don’t have a PC. So, if there’s a way to clean up the scenes with a Mac, let me know, please. If not, GET ON IT GUYS I know you can do it!

I don’t understand that either. You’d think by now the OT deleted scenes would have been cleaned up; some minor work was even done to some incomplete PT deleted scenes by ADM years ago. I realise the PT footage is easier to work with but it’s still quite baffling.

I’d love to just do it myself if not for life getting in the way.

I would like to be a part of this team to clean up anything related to the deleted scenes. I would love to see these scenes reincorporated into the film. Yes, it slows down the pacing of the film, and most of them are unnecessary, but, in a way, they are part of that universe. Just look at Biggs with his cape. I seem to remember a certain Director wearing one in another Star Wars film recently released.

I had the privilege of meeting Garrick Hagon, I took a picture with him and got his autograph, he’s a really nice guy, and I asked him questions about those deleted scenes. He basically said the same things, like he did in that one documentary. I have a photo with him, if anyone doesn’t believe me. I also met Anthony Forrest, aka Fixer, he had some stories too. I got a picture with him as well.

I can’t wait to see what deleted scenes there are for Rogue One, of course, we won’t see all of them, that’s for sure.

There is still work going on in the deleted scenes, as mentioned above in the other projects.
The deleted scenes are just that, deleted, and not as important as the main films.

I’ve still got some access to the work on the deleted scenes, but haven’t bothered to post them,
since they’re not a priority.

The main point of this site is to restore the Original Trilogy, and since it hasn’t been done yet,
that’s the priority. As far as diverting people to it, good luck, as many people claim they want
to help, but how many actually end up doing it. The main work is being done by a few people, and
their priority right now is Star Wars 4k, and ESB.

The point is if you want these, you will have to work on them yourselves.
There are people at The Star Wars Trilogy Forums, that have set up a way
to get involved, tools, tutorials, and more, if people want to sign up.

A super clean version of this would be really cool to insert into a Rogue One edit. 😃

Giving this thread a bump as most of the links are long dead, is there anywhere else currently or anyone who might have the work that was done so far to restore these deleted scenes? Really love the thought of reinserting them for edits.
