Ton o’ pork, eh? His parents must’ve hated him something fierce.
Just let it sink in that he’s laying down ONE BILLION DOLLARS on this. Holy shit. I can’t imagine having four million bucks in my account, let alone four billion. Forget all the hundreds of millions from Star Wars over the years. Insane amounts of cash.
Good for him. I might not agree with the direction he took Star Wars in, but I respect the man in a major way.

And it’s going to bring in tourists and money. Those other cities will be kicking themselves eventually.
To misquote an old joke I heard about Paul McCartney, George could lose his wallet with a million bucks in it, and not mind very much. 😉
Where were you in '77?

So I know this is a random thought, but do you think that rebel was really named Porkins, of is that a mean nickname that the other rebels gave him do to his size?
I decided to add a signature
Good thought. I’m sure Lucas intended “Porkins” as his surname, but this could easily be retconned to an in-universe nickname: the third draft refers to Porkins as “Piggy”!
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
Too bad Porkins wasn’t in Rogue One.
Where were you in '77?
Remember when people were pissed that Diego Luna wasn’t playing Biggs, because he has a mustache?

I’ve always assumed Porkins was his nickname.
Same with Han Solo. I figured Han used Solo as a last name to avoid the lawn such. But the EU and now ST have made it his actual last name. Lucky for me, I don’t care much for those things.
JEDIT: After looking at a discussion in the TFA Review thread, I may be wrong about the ST making Solo Han’s official last name. Looks like I may have assumed something here that didn’t happen. Having only seen that film once, I’m willing to admit that I could be wrong.

If you take the deleted scenes from Star Wars as canon (I do), then Biggs only joined the Rebels about a week before Luke got to Yavin. Wouldn’t make any sense to have Biggs involved in that story.

Just FYI;
According to the old EU, and I do believe it was implied in the radio play as well (which was “Lucas canon”), Biggs had actually joined the rebellion months before the deleted scene at Tosche station. Him returning to Tatooine and telling Luke half-truths (he had already gone to Bestine) was two-fold; to “recruit” Luke to the rebellion as well as creating a sort-of alibi should he be arrested.
Either way it’s a nice little head-canon possibility. It is for me anyway.
Star Wars is Surrealism, not Science Fiction (essay)

That seems overly complicated for no reason or pay off. If he was trying to recruit Luke, why didn’t he ask him to come with? Or give Luke a way to make contact? I don’t remember this being implied in the radio play, but could be.

Sorry, that was supposed to read “law n’ such”, not “lawn such”.
😉

Someone out there believes Millie Bobby Brown would make a good younger Leia.
I believe I agree.
At the age of 13 (?) she already has mad acting chops but I would Millie to play Leia when she’s a few years older.
Some thing I just thought of. Some one may have already thought of it but I am not a kid nor do I have kids so I did not think of it. I was watching a video of a kid reacting to “I am your father”. The description said the kid had seen I, II, Clone wars Series, IV, V, VI, rebels. So he skipped Ep III. Now I,II,IV,V, and VI are all PG. EP III is PG13. Technically a kid should not see EP III until they are older. I wonder if G.L. thought of this?

Yeah i really really don’t think they got a PG-13 rating as a way to save the “I am your father” reveal. In fact, the reveal is probably broken for anyone growing up surounded by pop-culture, as the references to star wars are everywhere. I lent my blu-rays to a coworker who showed his son the OT for the first time, and the reveal was not a shock to his son “Dad, everyone knows Darth Vader is Luke’s father…” is the response he got. :p
Some people on Reddit were saying that Finn Wolfhard could play young Kylo, and really agree as well.
At this point I think we’re going to get “Star Wars Episode VIII: Stranger Things” 😄
Caleb McLaughlin for younger Lando.
"A celebrated ancient poet once said that every death lessened him, for he considered himself to be a brother to every living being. I, on the other hand, have come to understand that every death I oversee nourishes and empowers me, for I am a true Sith.” - Darth Plagueis
Probably my favorite quote by him.
Nice to know a true Sith is as cliched as ever.
In that way perhaps but I wouldn’t expect any great Sith to not feel some pleasure from killing.
EDIT:
Also if you’re expecting/wishing for PALPATINE’S Master to be somehow civil or be somehow emotionally detached as it pertains to taking lives you are absolutely crazy.

Nope. I wouldn’t expect any TPM+ Sith to show depth or nuance.
