HALLOWEEN - Fixing the audio and re-creating 1999 color timing (Released)
Time

^I think you forgot the link! I'd love to see it though!

I can testify to the new BD being more in line with the theatrical and early home releases of the film, but I love the '99 color timing. I remember the first time I watched the '99 version (around 2000/2001) and was I just blown away. It really gives the film the feeling of fall in the mid-west (except that it's still clearly California) and the night scenes really feel creepier.

About the Leia/Jabba stuff.. Isn't it still heavily implied that what happened to her off screen would make for X-Rated material?

Jabba: Bring her to me!
Leia: (Struggling as she is forced toward Jabba) We have powerful friends. You're going to regret this.
Jabba: I'm sure. (Suggestively licks his lips as leia is forced closer to his face)
C3PO: Oh, I can't bare to watch. (Turns away in horror)
Salacious Crumb: (wicked laughter)

Next time we see her, she's in the "slave girl" gear and chained to Jabba.

Are we supposed to assume that the off screen scene played out like this:

Bib Fortuna: (holding up the slave outfit and opening the door to a private dressing room) Would you mind changing into this?
Leia: (taking the outfit) Oh, cute! Yeah, no problem!
Bib Fortuna: Great! I'm glad you like it! I'll just wait out here. (closes the dressing room door behind Leia and continues the conversation from outside) Also, you won't mind if we put a chain around your neck and give the other end to Jabba will you? You'll be free to take it off whenever you like, of course. It's not like you'll be his SLAVE or anything.
Leia: (from inside the dressing room) Sure, sounds fine. Normal.
Bib Fortuna: Ya know, I'm really glad you decided to stop by. I'm sure I speak for Jabba himself when I say that making sure your stay here is as comfortable as possible is our number one priority.
Leia: (stepping out of the dressing room) You guys are so nice! And so fun to hang around with! All the things I've heard about this place seem to be true!
Bib Fortuna: Well, we work hard making sure we live up to the outstanding reputation Hotel Jabba has gained.

Well, that got out of hand, but my point is that with or without the on-screen mention of "a fate worse than death" the scene still gets the same message across and still seems wildly out of place in an adventure film for the whole family.

It would be cool if there was a Star Wars VS Star Trek movie with all the stars from Into Darkness and all the stars from Episode VII....And hopefully Zac Efron will not be in it.

Such an endeavour would only result in the annihilation and recreation of both universes ...

But if they were battling, wouldn't one side have to travel to the others time period in order to actually meet up? That would either put the Trek characters going into our worlds past, giving them 1950's tech at best (we were told in the 1970's that SW happened 'a long time ago') or the characters from SW would have to travel into the future where their tech would be even more advanced than what we see in the SW flicks that took place 'a long time ago'.

Not really much of a fighting chance for the Trekkies either way. : p

I'm interested to see what role the speeder-bikes were originally meant to play in the sail barge scene. I've always had a suspicion that they were designed for that scene as the fins on the front and overall shape/design and color looks like Jabbas sail barge and skiffs. Now that BTS photos of them at the sail barge shoot have emerged, I'm more convinced than ever.

To get the original first Smiths album on CD. I had to buy two versions from 2 different corners of the globe. One had the correct artwork and one had the correct tracklisting. I used the two to custum build my definative CD then put the spare cover/disc back onto Ebay ;-)

Ah, the life of a collector. I'd have to dig and count how many copies of the Smiths albums and singles I've got. Vinyl, Cassette, CD, original cover, alt. cover, re-issue, remaster, repackage with a tacky badge, ect. For a band that was only around for a blink, they sure left plenty of collectibles behind.

Han was always "The first of the gang with a gun in his hand", Greedo was only added as a bonus track on the Special Edition of the album. Others singles included...

'Coruscant Is Not The World'
'Jedi Blood, Rebel Heart'
'Let Me Sith You'

and my favourite 'You Know I Couldn't Bast'

Very nice!

But you can't slap the extended Quarry in with the infamous "Special Edition" tag, as the original tracks are presented as originally released. There's no Bores shooting first or Alain's spirit replaced with Jessie Tobias. Just the singles B-Sides added to the end (which really do improve the album!).

But, if there were a SE of Quarry, I'd guess it we'd get
'You NOOOOO I Couldn't Last'

ray, I'm sorry you think so little of me. :-/

I can see now that your comments weren't mean spirited or even directed and Cain, but I just hate to see this kind of thing, ya know? I mean, yeah, obviously you do.

I don't like the "grammar Nazi" thing that goes on online where nobody really knows the other users situation. Could be someone with certain symptoms, could be a young child or it could be a full grown moron. But no matter what the situation, pointing out your superior grammatical and spell-checking skills on a goofy online forum makes nobody better than anyone.* /StupidSoapbox

And Frink, my man the only reason I would ever think little of you is becasue my brain is tiny and can only produce small thoughts. I'll try to produce several small thoughts of you in a row and maybe they can all Voltron into one big thought of you? And maybe pull a large sword from out of nowhere to win the big battle at the end? I really hope so!

*-ok, if it can be proved to be the case, folks to lazy to type well deserve the abuse ; )

If I was served up a ANH:R HD version I really would not want to see anything changed to much from what it already was...

Reinstating Tarkin just before the DS explosion and 3PO's reaction to his buddy R2 getting blasted are a must for me. I love ANH:R, but those missing/repurposed moments were a bit of a gut punch to me.

I saw Cowboys VS Aliens and I felt emotional impact when Daniel Craig,s character in the movie was so upset that that alien chick died at the end and Harrison Ford was like " It's okay she is in a better place now"

Hey look.....your 'comma' key works. Too bad you used it in the wrong place.

Sorry to break this to you, but Daniel Craig is the s character in the movie.

I was saying his character.

Ultimately, you're missing the point (and humor) of the whole thing.

Cain, they are making fun of you and your autistic traits. It's hilarious, isn't it?

ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!

He (Anakin) should have been "The Other" instead of Leia after ROTJ turned out to be the last film ever.

Almost everyone other than Luke seems to have forgotten that Jedi.

I agree. I've always thought that the title "Return Of The Jedi" was (or should be) referencing Anikins return. Anikin should be "the other". Hell, he is at the end of the story! Luke couldn't destroy the Emperor on his own, neither could Vader.

What Obi-Wan should have said was "The 'other' Yoda spoke of is your dead old dad. Yoda still believes there is good in him... But he's more machine now than man. Twisted and evil."

Your opinion seems to be putting every last wing in the air a moment of desperation is silly, indeed sillier than...

See what you just did there? You just assumed that they had more fighters than pilots. It is just your opinion (which is not very logical). And my opinion is that, logically, rebels had pilots in reserve. Picking Luke over them is the silly thing here. Much sillier than picking C3PO.

WHY would they send Luke instead of other trained pilots who would be left just standing around? THEY WOULDN'T! It's supposed to give the audience the idea that the desperate Rebels have so few resources that they will take anything/anyone they can get.

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

Eiji Aonuma (the guy in charge of the Legend Of Zelda game series) made a remark about not wanting to make the same mistakes as the Star Wars SE while discussing a remake of the LOZ title 'The Wind Waker '-

"It is certainly a bit of a balancing act... I too was one of those Star Wars fans who saw the (special edition of) Star Wars and was a little bit disappointed because it wasn’t my Star Wars. I understand those feelings and I understand the possibility of it happening. So it’s something we’re aware of.”

Nice to hear that he's one of us!
