Discussion: Most Realistic Replica Lightsaber - Recommendations?
Time

Anyone know the best UK manufacturers?

A bit late to the thread, yet it may be of interest to others…

https://krsabers.com/

https://www.jqsabers.com/

https://www.dcsabers.co.uk/home

https://www.forcesabers.uk/

It’s also worth checking out etsy.com/uk for lightsabers too - some decent offers on there, and not too bad on the postage - even coming from the US or Far East.

This site also has a decent list of stores (across the world - including the UK) for sabers - or for parts / replacements etc - https://sabersourcing.com/list-of-lightsaber-companies/

It depends mainly on your requirements - budget (as always!) or if you’d like something with a blade - or just a saber hilt on a stand, something to ‘duel’ with (or withstand a few knocks and scrapes), or a saber that resembles those used in the films or EU etc - or not…

A couple of months ago I ordered a ‘Kyojin’ lightsaber from The Pach Store in Singapore (I am in the UK) as a present. Only took 2/3 weeks to arrive - packaged very well & securely, and the quality for the price was outstanding at $59 (£47), plus p&p.

It’s a ‘light-mid’ dualing saber, has a 7/8 of an inch thick blade (many sabers have 1 inch blades), and has sounds - clashes, hums, movement sounds, blaster blocking sounds, and turn off & on sounds too. Available with black, silver or gold hilts - with blades in red, green, blue, amber, pink and aquamarine…

Superb value for money in my humble opinion - though obviously it doesn’t resemble anything that appears in the films. Have seen a few people ‘weather’ or ‘battle damage’ theirs, adding customisations such as leather straps - or painting some of the recesses a differing colour etc.

https://www.thepachstore.com/collections/custom-sabers/products/kyojin

There’s some decent reviews on it on here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGUmlZMojoE & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pKTahCV5Tw & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NUiVORqDVQ

The same saber can be bought in the UK from https://thesaberarmory.com/product-category/hilts/complete-lightsabers/ - called an ‘ECO Saber’ on their site - for £59 plus p&p.

Though it’s probably best to look around on the some of the various lightsaber forums, youtube reviews and videos before making your mind up whatever you may opt for.

PS - it’s also worth having a look around for a decent quality stand or mount for the saber too.

Thought it may be worth having a thread on the various auctions selling Star Wars memorabilia taking place around the world.

Coming up in Dudley, UK…

June 2018 saw Han Solo’s blaster fetch $550,000 in New York:-

^ according to that article… ‘The most expensive piece of Star Wars memorabilia was an R2-D2 droid used in several Star Wars films. It fetched $2.76m in Los Angeles last year’.

^^ With a short video on what some of the more regular memorabilia can fetch too.

^ 😃 Was surprised that scene was cut - maybe pacing or something or similar etc. I hope the other deleted scenes are of a similar ilk too.

Apologies if posted before - a decent insight into his being brought into the project, what he tried tried to bring to the film, and some other intriguing bits and pieces too…

How do I delete a post I accidentally made?

There is no option for members to delete their posts - though posts can be edited by using the ‘Edit’ button to update accordingly.

Some members on occasion accidentally double-post - and then edit their post to read as ‘double-post’. The mods usually delete these when they come across them.

Occasionally you may accidentally make, or see, a ‘markdown’ post, like this:-

This editor uses Markdown syntax, which makes it easy to add formatting like italics, bold, and lists:

Preview this post to see the results.

For more details, see this Markdown demo.

If you come across one please let one of the moderators know - via PM, or in the Forum Feedback section - and we’ll delete them for you - thank you.

Seems The Last Jedi has shifted 3 million blu rays in the US alone:-

For DVD - https://www.the-numbers.com/home-market/dvd-sales/2018

^ Some impressive numbers given it’s only been 6 months since the blu ray / dvd disc releases - and given the rise of digital downloading / streaming (and also piracy?) to take into consideration too, along with the shorter time between ‘cinema to disc/digital to tv airdates’ as well.

No worries, Warbler - though there are no guilty parties.

https://twitter.com/Kaepernick7/status/1037387722107830272 - a new video from Kaepernick / Nike.

Find it strange that some people are burning their Nike gear - why not just give it to those who’d be grateful or in need for footwear or clothing instead? And if they feel the need to inform others on the internet of their dissatisfaction or anger with Nike… film and show that kind & beneficial gesture instead?

I seriously don’t know why I get so much grief for my stance.

If you honestly want that question answered (and in my humble opinion you aren’t getting grief - and nor is it about YOUR ‘stance’) it may be better suited to something like the ‘Politics’ thread (where it has already been discussed?) or ‘Warbler feedback’ thread - and not in here, derailing this one.

Thanks.

I know. He’s stepping away from his position as moderator. I don’t know if that means that he’ll officially lose mod powers.

Don’t underestimate the power of the Dark Mod Side!

Although any ‘mod powers’ will soon be gone (not that I’ve used them since Saturday) - I’m a regular everyday member here, just like the rest of you good people.

‘Colin Kaepernick grievance set for trial after NFL dismissal request is denied’…

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/aug/30/colin-kaepernick-grievance-nfl-trial

Hope Colin and others who seemingly may have been blackballed by the NFL do get signed - and if the NFL’s own rules were broken by those teams under it’s own Collective Bargaining Agreement (teams and the NFL are forbidden from coming together to deprive a player of employment), that they are admonished too.

Maybe even people will get back to the issue as to why people have taken the knee - instead of deflecting away from it.

‘I can think of nothing more American’: Beto O’Rourke responds to question on NFL protests…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAw9eXXVwfM

^ Don’t know who the politician speaking is, but seems to give a decent, reasoned and balanced overview on the situation. Am sure others will disagree.

Seems what people who are taking a knee want to highlight issues that are important to them, their friends, families, their communities, to their country - in a bid to make it fairer, better, and just - seems quite ‘patriotic’ that - fighting for that better future, for everyone.
