I barely remember anything from the Sam Raimi Spiderman films, but I remember thinking they were all three about equal in terms of entertainment value.

I only saw part 3 once, in the theater and was pretty pissed at the time, but like I said, it does have potential to be a decent film in the right hands.

Baby Driver…B-A-B-Y? Yup…another quality Edgar Wright effort; makes me want to perpetrate some moving violations, vehicularlly speaking of course.

I finally finished Daredevil season one after watching the first few episodes last year and basically shelving it until now. It was pretty great, but I’m enjoying Jessica Jones even more so far, and am zipping through that one fast.

Oh yes, Daredevil season 1 was really great. Jessica Jones had a slow start but as soon as Doctor Who showed up it got really great. Daredevil season 2 was much weaker than season 1, but still really good. Luke Cage was the most boring series I’ve seen for at least a decade. Iron Fist - the most interesting thing from this show was the plot of rich white business men fighting over their leadership of a company. Which is pretty sad, it should be a show full of martial arts scenes, and every fight scene is boring.

It seems that with the exception of Iron Fist, the Netflix Marvel series are all bad ass. I am really anxious to see how they portray Punisher; he is probably my all time favorite Marvel character. I wish that the DC Arrow series would take a page out of the Daredevil playbook and inject some much needed realism in their show…compared to DD, the fight scenes in Arrow look like play fighting.

Spider-man 2 with the kiddos, still the best of the original bunch. Some questions and plot oddities popped up, like how did Doc Ock know where Peter and Mary Jane were meeting? or Why did Ock’s new limbs care if he remade his fusion reactor? But overall, a quality entry that holds up a bit better than the first installment, even with Ock’s ‘Nooooooooo!!!’. My girls felt that Peter was too much of a push over, but I just chalk that up to his geeky charm. My main issue with the film series is the amount of time it took for Peter and M.J. to finally get together. But this type of love story from afar is hardly new, and unfortunately has popped up in The Flash and Arrow TV series. Super dudes just gotta get better at keeping secrets from the evil dudes.

Spider-man 3…kids bailed at about the 52 minute mark, but I am still hanging in there. So much potential…sigh…

John Wick Point Blank fan edit in black and white. A must see if possible. One of the best fan edits I have been fortunate enough to see; and the black and white is beautifully done.

For Christmas I have been giving a few friends a three-pack comprised of Revisited, the Rowman Epsiode IV Bonus Material disc, and the Holiday Special. Here’s the cover art I created to go with it.

Does anyone have this cover they could send me? I really like this one. Thank you in advance.

I would love a set of covers like this as well…it has always been a favorite of mine.

For a DC guy like myself, admitting that any Marvel movie is a good movie is a pretty big deal…comic fans tend to be fairly stubborn when it comes to their publisher of choice. Having said that, just because the movie doesn’t hold up that well for me shouldn’t deter anyone else from esteeming it highly.

Spider-man 2 tonight, the best of the bunch in my opinion; we’ll see if the kiddos give it their seal of approval.

It had it’s moments. I thought those Yetis were awesome. And it’s probably way better than the Tom Cruise reboot. 😉

Better than Mummy Impossible:Rogue Mummy!!! Yeah, you’re right. And I did like the Yeti; it was pretty decent CGI which almost made for the Scorpion King at the of ‘Returns’…almost. Actually, it was kind of funny, when I saw the film, the scenes in the nightclub reminded me an awful lot of Temple of Doom, just without the charisma of Indiana.

In prep for Spider-man Homecoming, we started our Spidey marathon tonight with 2002’s debut. I saw the film in the theater and loved it. Having re-watched tonight, some of the films’ deficiencies have become apparent. The CGI, like many films from the era, has not aged well. And IMHO, the movie itself has not aged well…Macy Gray, Macho Man ‘Ohhhhhh yeaaaaahhhh’.
A bunch of dialog is God awful…‘deliver us from…eeevvvviiiilllll’ or Osborn’s ‘…Don’t tell…Harry…’ Uncle Ben’s death scene…'Perrrer, Perrrer…". The Goblin’s suit and mask, crap.

But I do still like the film, it just doesn’t have that luster it once did. Jameson is perfect and apart from a few of her lines, I liked Aunt May and Tobey M was a great choice to play Peter, even if his fighting prowess was a bit lacking. Overall, 7/10 for me.

We recently bought the Brendan Frasier Mummy Trilogy on Blu-ray and although the first two are pretty fun, the thirds installment was terrible and had zero chemistry between Fraiser’s character and the new Evie. Having never seen the third film, I was not surprised that it sucked…but at least the didn’t run out of CGI budget in that one.

Mummy 7/10
Mummy Return 7.5/10
Mummy something something we are in China Now, don’t bother…

Suicide Squad Extended Edition fan edit - Sorry link no longer available (Released)

Actually, our concept sounds a lot like Watchmen:Midnight, which used Rorschach’s monologue throughout the edit with awesome effect. In my effort, I did try to remove some dialog, but I could only do so much…I really didn’t know what I was doing, just experimenting really.

I think your idea would make for a good edit, you should give it a shot.

i’ve had some ideas for a little while now about how i would re-edit suicide squad. it makes me angry that they basically released an unfinished movie. i think the only way to fix it is to take a foreign dub of the movie, say french, and then make new english subs that would have to be about half re-written lines. combine that with a whole bunch of editing and you’d be about 90% of the way to a good movie, the last 10% would require actual reshoots. but, i don’t know the first thing about video editing.

The things you mention highlight the limitations of fan editing…and don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of really talented fan editors out there, but ultimately, editors are limited to the material that is available via the Blu ray/DVD releases and deleted scenes…so they can only do so much. There are edits out there where other supplemental material was utilized, like Watchmen:Midnight, but again, they are limited by what’s available.

As far as this movie goes, it had so much potential given the classic source material, but sadly, the powers that be chose instead to release a sub par film and bombard its viewers with a ‘cool’ soundtrack in an attempt to camouflage said films’ shortcomings. So it turned out to be just another ‘could have been a good movie’ in the long line of WB flops.

No, ‘wow’ as in you are shitting on yet another thread just because it is about a movie which “colors” you uninterested. Just like every other time you complained because something isn’t encoded to your standards or isn’t uploaded the way you would do it. There are better, more polite ways to offer your opinions and might actually benefit the community if you began to employ a few of them.

On an unrelated note, True lies is a great movie. To the OP, sorry for derailing your thread a bit…good luck with the project.

‘It’s funny…’ I didn’t recognize that. That’s the problem when english is not your first language. But I think you’re right. Thank you very much.

Hey, no worries, I completely understand. Most of my days are spent communicating in Polish, so the second language struggle is a reality for me as well.

This is what I got from the clip you posted:

“This season is the water season so it’s kind of nice to we had a lot of discussion in the writing process about how we can make this little trilogy in the end focus around water…(laugh)…it’s funny that that’s like, uh, taken as like uh ridiculous, you know ridiculous pitch by Ang and that’s exactly what happens…(laugh)…in the next episode. But it’s cool ‘cause there’s you know stuff in here that we set up early on in like episode 7 when he first goes to the spirit world that that kinda pays off here. I think that painting in the palace was by Brian Evans…really beautiful painting. And this is the spirit oasis.”

I hope this helps…

Watchmen: Midnight (Released)

I just finished watching this edit. One of the best, most professionally presented edits that I have ever had the pleasure to watch, and awesome job. I love the original graphic novel and used to read it once a year; what an improvement over the theatrical release, thanks for the hard work. If it is possible, I would like to ask why the deletion of the prison break scene? Perhaps it was cut to save time?
