Come to think of it, in TLJ it’s implied she always knew the truth about her parents, but was in denial - she wanted to believe things might be different. Here it seems to be actually repressed memories coming back to her, and Kylo trying to help her remember - “search your memories”. Basically she was in denial about her parents abandoning her and not caring about her, but it turns out she had repressed memories that prove they did care about her… so she was right to be in denial. It’s really, really dumb. It really makes me wish Rey’s parents being honorable could be removed.

If not, perhaps the line could be changed from “you remember more than you say” to “you remember more than you know”, very minor change but at least it would make it clear she literally doesn’t remember, instead of implying she doesn’t want to accept the truth that her parents cared about her(?!).

It’s funny when you think of it like that … since … she repressed a … good memory/motivation on her parents’ side? So like … her parents wanted to protect her, so she represses that to make up a memory that they were drunks/bad people to then deny that hoping they would come back up till TLJ. Lol oh man.

Why do i get vibes of inception with these two movies … a repressing of a repressed memory. Lol.

That’s a good idea, it may help to have the surrounding dialogue and the scene itself to try and “match” the tone and and all.

I remembered Hal had some suggestions:

I don’t really feel the need to add anything to the scene, but it’d be good to get some quotes of “Rey,” “no,” and things like that to play with.

I’d be most interested in the dyad line. Maybe request the complete sentence as well as various pieces of it.
“What Palpatine doesn’t know if we’ve become a dyad in the Force. Two that are one.”

“We’ve become a dyad in the Force.”

“We’ve become a dyad.”

“We’ve become…”

“Become a dyad…”

Etc. Just to have slight variation of the AI delivery.

I would try those ideas which then someone can use whatever filter or whatnot to mimic Kylo’s mask sound. There could be some syllables, words, etc. that after some adjustments may help that area in the hanger.

I’d like a link, very curious to see.

For Hal stuff, let the movies connect with one another and not worry about some kind of tweet, comic or book or some kind of other crappy thing. Let the movies be their own things, let them connect with one another. Because, even if you are a fan and enjoy the “Disney” canon, it has plenty of problems … so lets not worry about making sure it “connects” with their “corrections.”

Hmmm, I get both sides of it and will say, this is already an improvement than what the original movie did. I don’t necessarily disagree with Neerb’s take that Palps last line to her isn’t a straight up “personally speaking” by saying it broadly as “a scavenger girl …” as opposed to him saying it like “your just a scavenger girl …”

Although not sure if it is possible or doable to do a lip sync or whatever to change her first sound to “no” (The first kinda grunty “I’m”) which then goes to her “I’m a jedi.” So that way it is more of a response to Palps labeling her as “just a scavenger girl” then just a statement that isn’t 100% connected with the exchange.

Again, it is already much better than what’s there, but I can see if it is possible to do that, it could help it? Maybe?

Personally, the Babu “joke” has always been a “meh” so I wouldn’t really miss it. And as Hal pointed out … with the removal of him at the battle of the end … there’s no real payoff or anything else with that character.

I mean, I understand if not much can really be done with the whole DSII, Jannah, etc. scene to be done in a seamless way (Although I will root/support it and even if Sherlock or someone can come up with a “final draft” of the idea that isn’t for this edit, I’d put it in regardless for my own.) It’s still strange, Babu, part of a crew that only helps/works for one another would send out some broadcast be like “Oh hey, there are some people working against the First Order, so if you are First Order, please don’t listen to this. Anyway, they are going to this exact spot, made up of a small crew, so anyone who happens to be in the area, please treat them nicely. This is a one time “nice” thing we are doing, since well, you know, we only do things for those part of the crew. But we are in a good mood. Anyway, again, if you are First Order or anyone on their side, please disregard.”

@sherlock I agree about the point not saying anything specific about communications since … there is nothing in the movie that tells/shows that or any kinda resolution to it IF that was an issue. Changing Attacking to Silencing hits it just right.

With that in mind keeping it simple by just saying “Silencing threats/etc.” you can see this in action in the movie. During the festival on Desert Planet #4 we have FO troops patrolling. Why? On Kajimii we see FO forces knocking on doors and causing a rucks? Why?

It’s all about them “silencing” anyone, groups, or whatever from getting too big and strong or organized like or to the Resistance.
