The Official babyhum Release Thread
Time
Babyhum,

Are you going to start releasing more of your TV stuff from that era now? To be honest, I'd love to be able to see more of that rare stuff than the Japanese laserdiscs because we already have versions of those floating around.

I've always known Beta was superior to VHS but I'm really astounded by the quality. But I have to say, I look at some of the VHS tapes that I had from back in that era (early 80's) and I can't believe how much better the quality was then. Sad how it's all gone downhill

I've already done some of my own transfers and am waiting for someone to help me out with distributing.

But thanks for your additions! Keep up the great work!

The home video version is the extended version of the movie. THere are several changes including an additional lap added to the pod race.

It came out about 2-3 years ago. It's been 16x9 and 5.1 enhanced. It also doesn't have the THX logo in the lower right hand corner.

Also, the whole disc has the pod race from TPM from the theatrical version...in DTS as well

Info: OT Bootleg DVDs
Time
Fyi...

As I have said before...

I have The making of SW and Empire on DVD-R mastered from the laserdisc...and Classic Creatures on DVD from the VHS. Looks as good as they can get...plus I'd rather NOT have japanese subtitles on them. Kinda ruins any advancement in picture...or sound for that matter. But that shouldn't be of too much concern since they're all in mono.

You can get a dual-layer burner right now for $90. How much cheaper do you want them? lol

Where from and how much is the media??

Media is coming out this week or next supposedly. Around $3-5 each.

NEC is making the dual-layer burners. They're $90 all over the web. Just look.
