Was that another improvisation? Would explain why it's gone, that's for sure. I'd bet if he had the time and method he'd switch "I know" to "I love you, too."

But you know that he would leave in the same exchange in ROTJ just to make it even more terrible.

it could of been my Blu ray player seeing as how its been on the frits. But i don't remember hearing that line in there. I'm dissapointed that GL didn't add more to it then take away. At least get rid of the blue tint in the movie.

On that note... has anyone else noticed these blurays taking a really long time to load? On the bonus discs it seems like its taking forever, and it skips between "locations"

its been doing that to me too. i was hoping it was the disc and not the player.

I enjoyed the documentaries. i just started on Star Warriors. I thought it was funny to watch The 1977 documentary and listend to the corny acting and seeing how little everyone knew about SW at the time.

From what I've been told and what I've read, Blu-ray discs always take a really long time to load. I don't have a BR player (nor do I have plans to get one) so I can't say for certain; I'm just repeating what I've heard. Yet another reason to hold Blu-ray in disdain, if true. :)

From my experience, blus in general load rather quickly. It could depend on your player.

These blu rays have been noted for taking much longer to load than typical ones. It's not your player. Newer players, or those with recent firmware updates, will of course load it faster than older ones or those with out of date firmware, but they seem to be just slower in general compared to a typical disc.

I see it more like...

Han said:

Leia said:

I love you

I know.

I knoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

What model is your Player, Ziggy? - I'm using a ps3 [the slim one] and generally find Blurays take a while to initially load and sometimes getting between menues.

The Star Wars BDs take a bit of time but i wouldn't call it unusual in my experience...

I've only looked briefly at discs 7 and 9 so far. The 'spoofs' segment was a bit of a waste - i was expecting something more like a documentary but it's just a montage of scenes from here and there - and there's a LOT of good stuff that could / should have been included - even in place of some of the bland stuff that was there...

The prequel deleted scens from what I saw were just the scraps that weren't even worth including on the dvd sets.

aside from those i've just had a quick glance at things and watched the 'conversations with the masters' [or whatever]. I was expecting a lot more from that too. I wish they'd spent a LOT more time with Kershner and Kasdan.

I have a Sony player from 2010. It usually takes only a few seconds for me.

Although THX-1138 took so long once it was still loading an hour later. This was the only incidence of such a thing happening.

You actually let it go that long?  If it takes longer than you need to prep a sandwich, turn it off!

don't have the blu-rays but i've seen pictures of the collection and one thing i noticed:

looks like there is an illustration of all the major star wars characters inside the case.  Theres been discussion of how there is a disproportionate representation of the PT characters, which looks to be true and i think its funny.

Looking at this, I noticed I didn't see bail organa (jimmy smits).   I checked a couple sites for the same picture.  is he missing?  don't think i saw any post on this, so I thought i'd ask.

He's merely the guy who helps yoda escape and adopts princess leia so I think it would be funny if he was missing.

IIRC, THX 1138 is a notorious memory hog, and you actually need to put a large memory card in your player for the damned menus to load. You'd think they would test these things out before releasing them.

Looked at Episode III briefly last night. That and the bonus disc didn't seem to take unusually long to load. My current standard for bloated menus that have to reload every frakking time you go back to them is Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Weird to have the THX logo at the end of the movie. And apparently no THX calibration thingy either...

Not liking the current chapter graphics that cover half the screen for a few seconds every time you skip around the movie. Who comes up with this crap?

I was reading up on the THX Calibration thing. It is supposed to be an Auto Adjust setting for all of your future home electronics... an integrated chip that fixes everthing for you.

I do have to say that for strict Bluray Playback, I was happier with my old Walmart Magnavox one because it didn't have any built in video settings. I'm struggling trying to get the settings right on both my bluray player and my tv... makes it hell to calibrate... Maybe this new THX stuff will be worth it.

So what everyone think of the ROTJ line at the end where vader saves luke?

Side note: At my local Fred Meyer, more people bought the PT Blue Rays then the OT or the box set. Youtube comments that this is a site for old people.

Yeah, sure. :p

Actually, I'm not even convinced the '2nd NO' is actually voiced by James Earl Jones. It almost sounds like that 'Qui-Gon Jin NO', they used in AotC. Anonye else got that impression after hearing it a few times? (And no, I don't like it).

Things i've noticed in the Blu Ray:

TPM: Lights added on back of sith probes, CGI yoda included this time. I couple more added Podrace scenes to the already added scenes.

AOTC: Just a couple expansions on scenes to show more of the envirnment.

ROTS: Nothing noticeable

ANH: When on the cliff looing out to Mos Eisly, a couple more ships are seen taking off. Added one shot with lasers coming from the Falcon in the death star escape scene. Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon call was a mix of both the Original, SE, and some added effects.

ESB: Tuan Tuans blink a couple times. The line, "You could use a good kiss" is gone. Possibly another Tie fighter/Bomber or SD added in the Empire Reveal scene.

ROTJ: Sebulba like character enters the main room in Jabba's palace while LUke is confronting Oliff. Added a scene where the Falcon flys past the bridge of the SD after the Tie Fighter crashes into it. When the SSD crashes into the Death Star, you can see the Star Destroyer fleet above. Darth Vader does the "No" line twice. Once very suttle, the other one the same as ROTS only shortened.

Are these for real? Most of these haven't been mentioned by anyone else, at least what I've seen. I don't mean the rocks and nooos of course but Han's line, added ships and scenes.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

I find it hard to believe that the 'You could use a good kiss' line is gone... Will check when I get home.

At this point, no change seems impossible. He changed Luke's line on Dagobah "You're lucky you don't taste very good", so removing/changing "You could use a good kiss" doesn't seem unrealistic.

He made the Ewoks blink, so why not do the same to TaunTauns? *shrugs*

Listened to the FORCECAST this week. They talked to Matt Wood who swore up and down it was James Earl Jones, but was oddly evasive about when and for what it was recorded, except that it's not new, it's from the archives.

It's easy to imagine JEJ doing 8 or 9 takes of screaming "nooooooooooo" that eventually just for variety he'd do one that was wierd and not cool. And of course that's the one LFL went with.

That is strange; because it definitely doesn't sound like JEJ.

Watched ESB recently, and as far as I remember, it's still there. It's one of my favourite lines (Ford's delivery is priceless), so I definitely think I would've noticed...
