How come R2 is left out in the rain while Luke and Yoda are inside eating stew by the fire in Yoda’s hut on Degobah? He is seen standing on his tip-toes looking through a window while getting soaked in rain, i guess he couldnt fit through the door.

All I know is Yoda’ll never have that recipe again, oh no.

I believe the original, theatrical versions of SW & TESB are great films. Beyond that, I have little in common with the typical
Star Wars fan here. Just a heads-up so you aren’t too taken aback when I say I prefer Dark Empire over Return of the Jedi.

This is actually the only thing in ESB that bothers me. There is no way a electronic item like r2 would survive the swampy beating he takes on dagobah. When he fell into the swamp, he shoulda died realistically.

With the advent of phones that are water resistant enough to take a dip and keep working, not to mention the electronic items that construction and repair crews use on a daily basis, even in wet weather, I don’t see what the problem is. R2’s sensitive electronic components are protected from the elements and the rest of him can endure all sorts of conditions. Makes complete sense.

I always figured he couldn’t fit through the door.

They are constructed to stand an oil bath. So its electronics are protected from liquids?

You can get a watch at Wal-Mart for 5 dollars that you can take up to like 150 meters under water for unlimited time.

^ Needs to pull the stick out.

Exactly. He’s clearly out in the rain because he’s not supposed to be there at all.

Someone must have put a rock in front of him.

There’s been an awakening. Have you felt it?

You guys say he is waterproof, which would be fine with me if it weren’t for the fact that we see water pouring out of him. You could say his internals are waterproof, but when we get glimpses of them there are exposed servos and circuits. It’s okay, ESB is still my favorite movie, but this In my mind is a flaw.

Some electronics actually do spit out water to get liquids out of components like speakers.

Yes, effectively.

Nothing is so perfect that it can’t be complained about.

Kenny Baker was waterproof. 😉

But since this isn’t happening in our world or our time, this criticism is useless.
We see the water pour out of him and he still works fine. Checks out to me.

Alright I back down. R2 clearly is waterproof, so that’s fine.

I’ve heard they don’t taste very good.
